Position Summary

The Director - Emiratization will support the implementation of the university\'s Emiratization strategy promoting the recruitment, development and retention of an Emirati workforce. The position serves as a consultant and advisor to management and works closely with Sharjah Human Resource and other government stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

Strategy/Policy
  • Support the creation and implementation of the university\'s Emiratization strategy.
  • Actively review and monitor university policies and procedures and make recommendations to management to ensure that any barriers for UAE National employment are identified, reduced, or removed.
Recruitment / Retention
  • Work in collaboration with management and Employee Services to establish and implement effective UAE National attraction, sourcing strategies and plans.
  • Manage the recruitment of UAE Nationals via Sharjah HR and other recruitment strategies e.g. AUS alumni, acting as the first point of contact.
  • Represent the university in career fairs, placement workshops and seminars held for UAE Nationals in order to enhance the visibility of the university in the National job market.
Workforce planning
  • Establish Emiratization goals and tactical objectives through workforce planning and labor market scanning to identify positions which may have sufficient sized labor market to successfully recruit UAE Nationals.
Compensation
  • Review compensation packages and provide recommendations to attract and retain UAE Nationals.
Employee Relations
  • Consult and advise management on UAE National employee relations, ensuring issues are handled fairly and consistently in line with university policy and legislation. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Development
  • Collaborate with Talent Management Services and line managers to develop UAE National specific onboarding and development programs.
Data / Research
  • Conduct research, prepare reports and presentations, and compile data for consideration by senior management and committees to support and continually develop and evaluate the Emiratization strategy.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required
  • Bachelor\'s degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
  • A minimum of three years\' of relevant experience including experience of developing and implementing Emiratization strategies and plans.
  • Demonstrated experience of multiple human resource disciplines including recruitment, employee relations, workforce planning and policies and procedures.
  • Ability to consult with management at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build rapport and manage effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Knowledge of current labor market trends.
  • Ability to drive improvements with a passion for customer service excellence.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • In-depth working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professional discretion.
