Director of Sales
By combining a sound defense background with exceptional analytical and strategic skills, the Business Development Director will network with government organizations, industry leaders, original equipment manufacturers and suppliers, building relationships and teaming strategies with these entities in order to facilitate the capture of new business opportunities.
The Customer Business Development Director will be Honeywell's representative at the assigned customers and will grow strong relationships on both the technical and executive level that will position Honeywell for long term positive relationships within the assigned customers.
The Sales Director will be an expert in assigned customer platforms, Honeywell content, Honeywell capabilities and in doing so will understand the business and competitive environment with those customers and will be able to identify and close short term and long term growth opportunities for Honeywell.
Key Responsibilities
Identify new business opportunities within the targeted defense customer organizations through research, networking, and strategic teaming.
Prospect, target, and build qualified pipelines with prospective clients.
Develop and brief a focused and actionable defense customer account plan to the business identify resources to achieve plan.
Engage with high-ranking government, defense and OE officials who lead meaningful programs.
Analyze contract documentation and government spending to understand agency program trends.
Expand upon existing relationships with government and technology vendors/system integrators to further build a brand for Honeywell in the MEAI defense marketplace.
Develop credibility and relationships with Government clients through fluency in the service areas as it relates to Honeywell capabilities within the agencies.
Conduct all activities leading to opportunity identification, qualification including probability of success, strategy of the pursuit, drive the pursuit to a proposal opportunity.
Serve as the principal liaison with all key MEAI customers.
Perform ongoing assessments of customer requirements, determine market trends and develop strategies that align the customer's needs/opportunities with HON capabilities and discriminators.
Participate in bid decisions, development of cost strategies and phase reviews.
Engage and inform executive leadership with the voice of the customer and advocate internally for the actions and commitments necessary to win.
Work directly with the Honeywell GR team to shape, develop and execute on defense & space strategic priorities.
MUST HAVE:
Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or Engineering. Advanced degrees
Excellent command in written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus)
Travel required: 50-75% of time within MEAI
WE VALUE:
Master's Degree Preferred
Previous Military service at a senior military officer rank and/or Civilian experience in Government beneficial
10+ years of experience in the aerospace defense industry in a business development, sales, and/or operational capacity with a proven track record of success in developing a robust pipeline and generating new business opportunities
Knowledge of the international defense budgeting process
Strong understanding of government acquisition regulations, policies and contract vehicles
Strong business acumen and strategic analysis experience
Technical understanding of customer requirements
Strong leadership and influencing skills
Experience with project planning, scoping
Ability to deliver on complex problems without guidance
Deliver presentations with ease engage audiences
