Role Purpose:

At Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), the Internal Audit function is a centralized and independent function reporting to the Group Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC). The function operates as a matrix structure that balances central scrutiny and efficiency with industry specific expertise.

Overseeing the activities across all Majid Al Futtaim businesses and operating companies, the Centralized Internal Audit Function (CIAF) is responsible for providing an objective assurance on the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, controls, governance and risk management for key stakeholders including the Board of Directors and Senior Management. CIAF is a change agent within MAF to enhance the control culture and thereby support Senior Management decision making.

The Director - Quality Assurance & Improvement Program is a key member of CIAF, and is responsible for ensuring that CIAF team members are applying the standards of best professional practice of Internal Auditing in an adequate manner. This role is also responsible for setting internal quality standards and policies for the team and driving quality improvement initiatives.

The role is based in Dubai, UAE and will report to the Chief Audit Officer.

Role Detail:

Quality Assurance and Improvement Program

• Role model being a change agent in the continuous improvement program to deliver and maintain a best-in-class QAIP function, sharing best practices and lessons learned with CIAF team members.
• Provide independent assurance that CIAF has achieved and is maintaining appropriate standards of Internal Audit delivery, set against both CIAF\'s own internal standards and the Standards and Code of Ethics of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
• Ensure that QAIP initiatives are embedded into Internal Audit processes, procedures and practices by monitoring of such measures on an ongoing basis.

Governance:

• Develop, maintain and implement CIAF\'s policies, processes and procedures and recommend improvements thereof to ensure effectiveness and compliance with MAF\'s general governance and procedural requirements. This entails ensuring appropriate understanding, access to and the correct application of the Internal Audit methodology.
• Act as a custodian of the Internal Audit governance suite (i.e., charter, manual, CIAF job descriptions, etc.) and work with the Chief Audit Officer and CIAF Leadership Team to identify areas of improvement in the audit methodology and framework and accordingly recommend changes.

• Project manage the annual risk assessment activities and ensure availability of required data, information, business intelligence and resources.

Operations & Reporting:

• Oversee the day-to-day management of CIAF ensuring smooth and effective operations.
• Enable the CIAF strategy implementation by translating into key initiatives and action plans to ensure execution and continuous alignment with the overall direction of the function.
• Support in setting CIAF objectives and targets, in line with the function\'s vision and strategy to ensure vertical and cross-functional integration with other interfacing CIAF disciplines.

Stakeholder Relations:

• Work with the Chief Audit Officer and CIAF Leadership Team, and contribute to the reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually) to ARC and the Board, as required.
• Work with the Chief Audit Officer to address ad-hoc ARC and Senior Management requests to ensure timely and quality support.
• Deliver on tasks that are sensitive or confidential in nature or relate directly to ARC requests.

Functional/Technical Competencies:

• 15+ years of experience in Internal Audit, internal controls, control functions and/or reporting in regional/ multinational organizations or conglomerates.
• Experience leading the QAIP of an Internal Audit function is preferred.
• University degree in Business, Accounting or Auditing.
