OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
To plan and deliver a creative and practical marketing and sales approach that positions Rosewood Abu Dhabi as an ultra luxury hotel and delivers a strong revenue stream in each of the revenue centers (Rooms, Food and Beverage, SPA, Residences) within the hotel complex. Strategic Planning includes building effective operating plans. Sales Direction includes ensuring sales priorities are clearly defined and communicated. Marketing Communication includes develop systems to communicate effectively with key markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures proper recording of all sales activities carried out by the sales team in system Sales and Catering with weekly sales reporting in place.
  • Provides a professional, advisory and executive support to the Managing Director in meeting strategic goals.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of policies for the department and hotel.
  • Plans and develops marketing strategies and promotion plans.
  • Oversees and assists in the development and implementation of the hotel’s Sales and Marketing plans.
  • Monitors and evaluates contemporary sales and marketing initiatives and trends.
  • Manages departmental changes and ensuring processes and required infrastructure are in place.
  • Conducts market research.
  • Establishes pricing strategies and sales targets for the hotel.
  • Manages special projects and other business related enterprises.
  • Ensures efficient utilization of departmental resources.
  • Ensures the development, update and maintenance of promotional materials.
  • Reports on the effectiveness of Sales and Marketing programs.
  • Manages human resources within the department including selection & recruitment, training & development, team building, staff performance planning and review.
  • Demonstrates compliance with legislated health and safety requirements in the work place.
  • Ensures staff in the department is aware of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Initiates corrective measures and actions immediately when the well-being and the normal operation of the department or the hotel are being jeopardized.
  • Ensures staffs maintain complete familiarity with safety, current first aid and fire emergency procedure.
  • Ensures that all equipment is functioning and serviced regularly.
  • Manages guest relations and client services including guest and client need, product and service knowledge, sales effectiveness, communication skills and guest and client feedback.
  • Manages departmental expenses and budget.
  • Prepares monthly outlook/forecast for related expenses and return to management as scheduled.
  • Monitors accounts activities and makes adjustments when necessary.
  • Implements cost saving methods for the department in line with corporate policy.
  • Ensures staffs abide by both the hotel and policies and procedures.
  • Ensures files, correspondence and other relevant business documentation are maintained.
  • Liaises with Corporate office to ensure execution and smooth flow through of all Sales & Marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinates with all Sales & Marketing departments within the company to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Represents and promotes the hotel to all sectors in the community locally and overseas
  • Participates in Rosewood initiated sales and marketing events.
  • Conducts sales promotion trips to target markets.
  • Maintain good rapport and communication in the market place locally and overseas.
  • Analyses, evaluates and improves personal performance on a continual basis.
  • Determines overall Sales & Marketing objectives and initiatives best suit the hotel.
  • Produces and executes Sales & Marketing budgets and business plans.
  • Effectively promotes and positions the brand and the hotel at its desirous level.
  • Manages and administrates the Sales & Marketing department.
  • Assists the ExCom in achieving the hotel’s business objectives and revenue goals.
  • Knowledge of market trends and behavior including political, economic and social issues.
  • Sound communication skills.

OSHAD RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maximize revenue stream performance in accordance with targets agreed by Rosewood and Hotel Owners.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all Revenue generated departments and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
  • Ensure that professional standards are deployed in the (reservations), sales, and catering to ensure that customers experience is beyond expectation and leads to returning guests.
  • Put in place a strategic planning process that ensures all Sales and Catering associates have defined targets and detailed strategies to ensure that the sales efforts are focused and generate a return on investment.
  • Build professional effective teams to achieve determined revenue goals.
  • Identifies key and potential accounts and acts on them immediately in accordance with agreed business development strategy.
  • Formulates clear statements of objectives for the department and ensures their timely implementation.
  • Develops realistic, transparent and commercial sustainable goals broken down by key market segments, inclusive of residences presented in the form of a personal business plan. Monitors systematically the revenue performance of key retention, development and acquisition accounts.
  • Analyze sales performance statistics and adjust sales team strategy in accordance with changes in the market, as well as review deployment of each member of the team.
  • Participate in planning and organizing key exhibitions, roadshows and sales trips to maximize the brand coverage of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts and optimize the production of short, medium and long term business for Rosewood Abu Dhabi.
  • To conduct timely sales meetings with the Sales, Catering and Marketing team to provide appropriate levels of professional direction on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • To interface with key corporate accounts, to build a network of professional contacts to drive high yielding business into Abu Dhabi Rosewood.
  • Liaise professionally and timely with all department heads as it relates to the coordination of sales issues to ensure their effective execution.
  • Ensures proper and timely submission of recurrent and ad-hoc reports.
  • Drafting of standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for corporate and leisure sales.
  • Ensures proper recording of all sales activities carried out by the sales team in Sales Force and Catering with weekly sales reporting in place.
  • Evaluates the sales teams skill set and recommends training plans that will improve the ability and worth of our sales team to the hotels.
  • Handles complaints from contractual partners and informs the department(s) concerned of the results, resolves such complaint so as to retain customer loyalty.
  • Provide management team with feedback on the customer experience of corporate and leisure guests.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • To ensure that all operation meet the OSH legal requirements
  • To ensure that the health, safety and wellbeing of associates are taken care of
  • Hold employees and subcontractors accountable for the authority and responsibility delegated to them.
  • All sales and marketing activities will Report to Managing Director
  • All OSH matters will report to Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Must have experience in sales and marketing operation within the 5 star hotel category. Must have managed a professional hotel sales within the GCC region. Must be well versed in the best practices of revenue management including the deployment of hospitality software such as Sales Force, and Ideas.
  • Education: Certificate/Diploma. Professional affiliation to professional marketing body.
  • General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Technical Skills: Understand the behavior of customers and define appropriate strategies to influence buying patterns. Manage a diverse team to optimize collective performance within key markets. Develop strategies to channel distribution from international markets and electronic channels.
  • Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
