Director of Operations

Job Purpose

The position is an ExCom role, responsible in managing all aspects of the Hotel Operation including Food and Beverage, Rooms, Culinary, SPA and Security whilst working along with other administrative Excom peers and to ensure the delivery of Fairmont Taghazout Bay's experience throughout the entire guest journey meanwhile ensuring optimisation of forecast and budget as well as developing managers and colleagues.

Primary Responsibilities

Ensure luxury guest journey from pre-arrival to post-departure Lead by example in living the Fairmont brand values and established service culture as well as Code of Ethics Set, plan and direct the operational departments to achieve hotel goals Assist in managing the hotel's budget and ensuring that expenses incurred are within budget and in line with the established guidelines Constantly identifying new revenue opportunities and improvement of existing revenue streams Expands the profile and reach of the company and its brands Oversee management of CAPEX and projects for the year. Act on behalf of the General Manager in his absence Help and support establish positive owner relations through proper and appropriate communications with the appointed Owner's representative Lead and guides the ExCom and management teams in driving the hotel to achieve its KPIs Ensure synergies amongst departments Ensures a clean and hygiene compliant hotel environment at all times

Profile

Knowledge and Experience

Diploma or Degree from preferably hospitality or related field Strong strategic business thinking and orientation Minimum 10 years' relevant experience with at least 4 years at ExCom level Luxury background and detailed local market as well as luxury market knowledge Thorough knowledge of property systems Aptitude for project management, multi-tasking and managing numerous sources Ability to consolidate and analyze large volumes of data in an efficient manner Strength in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other work related systems

Strong interpersonal skills Good working knowledge of budgets, forecasting, profit and loss statements Focus on service with an eye for detail and an approachable attitude Flexible and able to embrace and responds to change effectively Proven experience in analysis and problem solving and sense of urgency required Strong leadership and strategic skills as well as experience in similar/corporate role Ability to work effectively and contribute to the team Multicultural awareness and ability to work with people from diverse cultures Good reference in terms of representation, ethics and manners Excellent communication skills in Frensh and English
