WHY THIS JOB EXISTS
To serve the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by coordinating the day-to-day marketing & communications activities for the hotel. This includes developing and maintaining relationships with media bodies, society and opinion leaders, and other key stakeholders. The overall objective is to position the hotel to achieve the marketing objectives and business strategy of the hotel and the overall Anantara brand. THE SCOPE OF THE ROLE The scope of this role includes the following: KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing Communications Manager will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the specific marketing strategies and plans to achieve each brand\xe2\x80\x99s awareness and revenue objectives including but not limited to brand strategy, offline & digital strategy and execution, media planning, PR, Social Media, strategic partnerships, exhibitions & travel trade participation and event management whilst effectively monitoring the marketing budget. Marketing Communications will also be responsible for supporting, developing, and launching marketing campaigns externally as well as internal communications initiatives and communications in line with Anantara\'s vision and business strategy to enhance brand awareness, increase interest, generate leads, and enhance the positioning of the brand. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Anantara employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. the key responsibilities for this position are:
  • Develop the Marketing and PR strategy for the select property, obtaining approval from operational and functional leads, and then overseeing the implementation of the approved strategy.
  • Be aware of activities in the resort (F&B promotions, VIP arrivals, new appointments, or promotions of team members) that should trigger media interest \xe2\x80\x93 compile an annual calendar of events and updates these quarterly.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken, for liaison with media, writing of press material, writing of internal communications, marketing copywriting, and proofreading.
  • Ensure that you fully understand the business strategy and positioning of the Anantara brand and that you are able to effectively articulate this positioning in the marketplace. This is the responsibility of ALL sales and marketing professionals, regardless of their responsibility level.
  • Maintain a personal up-to-date knowledge of all Anantara product and service offerings, the products, services, rates, and new developments of key competitors, and an awareness of general industry trends.
  • Ensure all Marketing collaterals are as per brand standards and audits are conducted regularly across the resort including rooms, dining venues, spa, leisure facilities, meeting and event spaces, in-room TV, and digital screens.
  • Prepare presentations of hotel information in the media, on industry websites and directories, and all other relevant online and paper-based publications.
  • Collate and distribute media references to the hotel and the brand, and proactively circulate them to all relevant internal parties
  • Assist the corporate Marketing & PR teams in all marketing or public relations-focused projects.
  • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing to prepare and monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis and allocate funds wisely.
  • Acting as a brand guardian on content published on all platforms - offline, online, the media, and social media.
  • Brief creative team/agencies and media buying agency on advertising campaigns requirements and deliverables.
  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution by keeping the campaigns consistent with campaign objectives, sales strategy, and media plan.
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals.
  • Produce valuable and engaging content for the website to attract and convert our target audience.
  • Work closely with the relevant teams to plan the social media calendar, posting, and influencer marketing whenever required.
  • Management of SMO campaigns with the agency to drive engagement, followers, and UGC to our resort social media pages.
  • Analyze statistic reports, and consumer/target audience behavior and adjust advertising, social media, and emailer campaigns accordingly.
  • Conduct market research on competitor hotels within the industry that is seen as a relevant and delivering competitive advantage to the brand, in that the research is valued and eagerly awaited by the corporate and operational leadership teams.
  • Maintain and continually improve the hotel library of photography, video, and other electronic media.
  • Solicit and obtain external sponsorship for promotions and special projects
  • Maintain the media database.
  • Proactively work on social media content, and calendars, including Facebook and Instagram postings under the guidance of your department head.
  • Ensure the website content is up to date for all hotels within the scope utilizing the procedures and processes set out by the corporate office.
  • Coordination of translations.
  • Preparation of LPOs for the department and coordination with the procurement division.
  • Achieve all personal performance objectives, working with department leadership to ensure these objectives are met.
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development including strong financial literacy and negotiation skills, brand development, PR, and marketing skills needed to become a future Marketing Leader for Anantara.
  • Maintain accurate management status reporting on business results, and associated action planning.
  • Practice effective cost control and adhere to internal procedures for approval of expenditure
  • Actively participate and manage media familiarization trips, site inspections, photoshoots, and events as required to meet the targets of the hotels.
  • Liaise effectively with all operational colleagues, providing support and information to ensure accurate delivery of our promise. In particular, this includes Sales, Front Office, Reservations, F&B, Spa, Activities, and Events colleagues.
  • Ensure that all paperwork associated with the work of the department is processed quickly and efficiently, including letters, emails, contracts, and reports.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining client databases, and using those databases in promotions and marketing campaigns.
  • Provide all assistance to guests and clients in a proactive, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Create and maintain the relationships with the key stakeholders (including airlines, tourism authorities, owners & business partners) required to ensure the delivery of the PR strategy.
  • Social Media management of the Hotel/F & B /Spa accounts; creating strategies, content, daily calendar of postings.
