Job SummaryCareem is looking for a Director of Information Security Engineering who can provide leadership and hands-on technical engineering expertise and ownership of the growing security engineering landscape across Careem including cloud security, application and product security, cyber resilience and data protection. As the overall responsible for these domains in Information Security, you will own the strategy, execution and delivery of its related security programs.As a Director in the Information Security department and reporting to the CISO, you will be a core member of the Security Leadership team that is responsible for growing and maturing the department\'s people, process and technology, contributing to Careem\'s value of building a lasting institution. You will be leading a team of talented individuals and managers who are experts in their fields.You will work closely with our Engineering, Infrastructure, IT, Legal and Product Management groups across verticals to help build secure and resilient products, services, infrastructure and systems that powers Careem\'s marketing offering across board.You will have the opportunity to learn from, and be mentored by, those who are building and securing our cutting-edge offerings across the Super App portfolio of Careem.Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the design and implementation of comprehensive strategy to deliver continuous improvements on Careem\'s security, resilience and data protection practices
• Inform and oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy for offensive information security measures
• Partner cross-functionally with key business partners to influence and ensure alignment and support for the security engineering, cyber resilience and data protection mandate
• Align and collaborate with fellow leaders of our Global Engineering, Infrastructure, Risk and Information technology teams on strategies to support their functions with technical solutions and expertise
• Research, evaluate, and recommend security technologies that can be applied to technology solutions being developed or maintained internally or externally
• Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of information security experts

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive security leadership and management experience in multi-disciplinary environments.
• Deep knowledge of and technical expertise in implementing SSDLC (SAST, DAST, SCA), API security, secure CI/CD, security architecture design at scale.
• Experience designing and implementing cyber security programs \xe2\x80\x93 DevSecOps, cloud security management (including WAFs, container security), penetration testing.
• Hands-on experience working on security incident management, cyber compliance topics.
• Demonstrable experience managing a security engineering function in an (preferably a scale-up) organization with a large cloud footprint.
• Experience leading advanced application security, vulnerability management, infrastructure security and engineering management capabilities.
• Ability to evolve security strategy based on research, data, business direction, and industry trends.
• Demonstrable track record as an influential leader.
• Practical security engineering background, with expert level knowledge of security engineering principles, cloud security and data security topics.
• Experience partnering with members of the security community.
• Maintain hyper-current knowledge of threat landscape, attacker techniques and mitigations.
• Demonstrable track record of delivering security solutions within tight time frames, in collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups and contending priorities.
• Strategic, but also hands-on with the proven ability to work in a fast paced, innovative hyper-growth environment.
• Use a data driven approach to drive security posture improvements and influence decision making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• B.A./B.S or equivalent work experience.
• You have a \'can do\' attitude and you are more proactive than reactive.
