Role

The Director of Design & Technical Services reports to the Global Head Design & Technical Services. The position oversees the design development process and construction and project management to an established schedule within approved budget. Supporting the implementation of Aman's standards and brand objectives through a focus on superior design strategies and solutions. Responsible for liaising with owners and managing project consultants to achieve best in class Aman hotels in both urban and resort locations.

Responsibilities

Build strong relationships with owners, consultants, and internal teams. Collaborate with architects, designers, and contractors to add value to projects. Manage multinational teams and internal stakeholders across multiple projects. Provide design direction and ensure adherence to Aman brand standards. Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to Aman's quality standards. Develop schedules, review construction documents, and track project progress. Update Global Head of Design & Technical Services weekly on design and program delivery. Identify, address, and communicate project-related issues and resolutions. Support project feasibility stages and gain approval from senior leaders. Lead procurement, quality control, and design reviews for furniture and other key elements.

Requirements

University degree in Architecture or Interior Design. Minimum 15 years professional experience, including 3+ years' Technical Services experience in a similar role with luxury hotel operators. Familiarity with all aspects of luxury hotel and resorts project delivery. Fluent in written and spoken English (additional languages desirable). Strong work ethic and cultural sensitivity. Excellent communicator able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong team management capabilities. Willing to travel extensively.
