As a Director in Indirect Tax , you will play an important role in driving the strategic growth and direction of the Indirect Tax practice in Abu Dhabi. This includes leading high impact client engagements, expanding the firm's VAT service offerings, and playing a key role in business development initiatives. About the Indirect Tax Service Line

Our Indirect Tax team helps clients manage their global indirect tax risks. We proactively assist clients to be compliant and VAT efficient and represent their interests to resolve complex or contentious matters. As well as working closely with colleagues from other disciplines to provide a seamless offering to our diverse client base. Our expertise includes comprehensive tax compliance, strategic tax planning, detailed reporting, & regulatory Insights. With a deep understanding of both local tax laws and international standards, we ensure that businesses manage their tax obligations efficiently and capitalize on growth opportunities.

As a Director some of your responsibilities will include:

You will be responsible for managing the Indirect Tax (VAT) team and client engagements in Abu Dhabi Taking alead on wider tax mandates, including cross functional tax advisory Driving the growth and development of the Indirect Tax (VAT) team within the Abu Dhabi office Collaborating closely with Direct Tax team, ensuring effective coordination and knowledge sharing Collaborating closely with Assurance and Advisory colleagues to identify and leverage opportunities Contributing to business development initiatives, with proven experience in the UAE and a strong understanding of the Abu Dhabi market Demonstrate an advanced understanding of Indirect Tax developments in the UAE (for example, e-invoicing) Responsible for managing client relationships and supporting them on a variety of tax advisory matters Serving as the primary point of contact, working closely with clients them to understand business developments, and ensuring they are up to date with their compliance obligations and legislative changes, helping them assess the impact for them, and keeping abreast of opportunities Demonstrating the ability to analyze data, identifying business issues, and apply technical knowledge effectively with relevant practical experience Preparing high-quality, professional tax reports, ready for review by the tax partner/director Leading, coaching team members, collaborating with colleagues to achieve optimal performance

Skills

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with specialization in tax Professional qualification (ADIT, CPA or ACCA) is preferred 10+ years of Indirect tax (VAT) exposure and experience in either a Big 4 firm or within an industry focused tax function Experience of Indirect Tax (VAT) in the UAE is mandatory Industry focus or specialization in one of more of the following sectors: Real Estate, Energy, or Logistics or Financial services is mandatory Must be a team leader who can manage a varied and large portfolio of both existing and new clients Demonstrating confidence and autonomy, a self-starter who works independently and takes initiative Arabic speakers would be preferred Exhibiting exceptional leadership and coaching skills to develop teams and adding significant value to the region
