Job Summary
Join Standard Chartered as a Director in FM Sales, Banks and Broker Dealer (BBD) division, focusing on the Macro and Commodities business across MENAPT regions including the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan, and Turkey. You will spearhead initiatives aimed at delivering budget targets at both team and individual levels, managing an assigned portfolio of institutional clients to maximise wallet share in FX, interest rates, and commodities sales.
This role requires visionary leadership to foster innovation through ideation and origination of new and complex financial transaction structures, collaborating closely with sales, trading, and research teams. Your efforts will significantly contribute to expanding the franchise across digitisation initiatives and diverse product offerings such as interest rates, FX solutions, options, and commodities. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of financial markets sales in a dynamic and multicultural environment, leveraging your expertise to deliver strategic growth aligned with the bank's goals.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy
You will lead the development and execution of innovative client engagement strategies, originating bespoke transactions that respond to institutional client needs in collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Trading, Research, and Relationship Managers. Your role involves enhancing the bank's market position by cultivating new business opportunities and expanding existing relationships.
Business Delivery
Accountable for meeting and exceeding both individual and team budget targets in Macro and Commodities Sales across the MENAPT institutional base. You will actively work alongside the Macro and Commodities teams to advance the bank's franchise capabilities in digital solutions, interest rate products, FX offerings, and commodities.
Processes & Compliance
Adherence to all regulatory and internal compliance requirements is mandatory. You will champion best practices in governance and operational frameworks that underpin FM sales activities.
People & Talent Development
Demonstrate outstanding collaborative leadership by mentoring and coaching junior team members, fostering a team culture based on shared values, integrity, and excellence. You will also work in tandem with risk and control partners to embed a strong culture of risk awareness and compliance within the team.
The Director of FM Sales will actively drive business development through close interaction with a diverse client base across MENAPT, ensuring client needs are met with innovative and strategic financial solutions. You will play a crucial role in integrating cutting-edge digital tools into sales methodologies, positioning the bank as a pioneer in digital transformation within financial markets.
This includes collaborating cross-functionally with product specialists, market analysts, and legal teams to tailor complex transactions involving FX, interest rates, and commodity derivatives. Your leadership in providing timely market insights and trade opportunities will reinforce our reputation for excellence and responsiveness.
Additionally, you will oversee the development of a robust pipeline of structured and vanilla transactions, leveraging coalition data to benchmark performance and identify growth areas. Your ability to generate new pathways for growth and address shifting market dynamics will be central to maintaining the bank's competitive edge.
Effective stakeholder management is at the heart of this role. You will engage regularly with senior client representatives, internal sales teams, credit, compliance, and risk partners to ensure seamless transaction execution and uphold the highest standards of risk management.
Building and nurturing a network of trusted relationships, both internally and externally, will facilitate the translation of market trends into actionable business strategies. An openness to constructive feedback and continuous learning is essential to succeed in this evolving landscape.
Markets Front Office Supervisor Responsibilities
This role has been identified as a Markets 'Front Office Supervisor' and as such has associated with it a series of specific supervisory responsibilities in addition to any current employee / management responsibilities within the Bank. Periodically the holder of this role will be required to attest that they understand their specific supervisor responsibilities and that they will execute these diligently. For the avoidance of doubt these Front Office Supervisory Responsibilities supplement and do not replace those outlined in this as well as any other applicable core employee/management responsibilities associated to employment with the Bank.
Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of FM (FX, Rates, Credit)
  • Knowledge of financial instruments (Spot, Derivatives flow, Structured products
  • Build and maintain relationships
  • Experience in FM sales
  • Chinese and Arabic speaking is preffered
