What’s it all about? The Director, Commercial Learning Consultant, CEMEA will be a key member of Visa University’s Global Learning Delivery organization in CEMEA, reporting to the Regional Head of Learning. This individual will play the lead role in consulting with business stakeholders to understand commercial learning objectives and driving & implementing learning solutions across the region. The successful candidate will collaborate with regional leaders to gain a deep understanding of commercial capabilities, across both sales and client services, required to grow and optimize Visa’s commercial strategy. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving commercial methodologies in a multi-faceted function such as consulting, has advanced experience with the sales life cycle, sales & client services technical elements, consultative selling, financial acumen and the payments industry. This individual should also have experience with generating revenue, creating new business and be able to maximize sales leader and salesperson effectiveness. This individual will also be responsible for leading the effective creation, enhancement and delivery of client-facing training. This should encompass content design, facilitation of engaging live and virtual training programs and conducting 1:1 coaching to drive performance results. What we expect of you, day to day.
  • Build deep, trusted partnerships and manage relationships with the CEMEA regional Leadership Teams, Function Leaders and People Business Partners to understand commercial learning goals and needs, gain buy-in to proposed initiatives, and drive impact.
  • Serve as the lead regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Visa University’s commercial programs and learning solutions that have already been developed for global implementation and scale into region.
  • Lead collaboration with business stakeholders to develop and deliver regional training needs assessments, analyse sales and client service-related challenges, and work with the VU Commercial College to create programs that meet current and future skills and development needs.
  • Champion and exemplify excellence in facilitation to deliver content in a simple and effective way. Foster a safe environment to have productive discussions, promoting and inspiring a culture of learning that encourages continuous performance improvement, innovation, and learner engagement.
  • Develop and scale regionally-originated commercial learning solutions and identify and manage local strategic external vendors and partners to support these programmes.
  • Use knowledge of commercial processes and methodologies to design, develop, and implement selling-focused learning solutions aligned with business priorities and initiatives to ensure effective delivery and relevance of content.
  • Contribute to the evolution and application of sales competency models for specific business roles related to selling as well as supporting the development of subject matter experts and VU Faculty.
  • Act as lead consultant on curriculum design and development to create impactful, regionally tailored content, blended-learning and non-training deliverables that will achieve the goals of the Sales and Client Services organizations.
  • Provide coaching to Account Executives and Client-facing teams. Create strategic learning roadmaps for new hires and the ongoing development of existing employees
  • Build long-term business relationships with various groups within the organization to ensure client facing roles have the right skills to excel in their jobs and the support they need - providing the knowledge, coaching, tools and inspiration.
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the business, including internal and external trends, and keep up to date with Visa’s business, the payments industry and regional nuances.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years in Learning and Development, sales training, consulting, or related fields
  • Proven track record in partnering with sales leaders to identify, design, develop and deliver impactful learning solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate, consult and influence senior leaders, business partners, internal and external customers, and colleagues to drive business results.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with increasing responsibility including: leading sales and/or client-facing strategic projects, coaching sales and client-facing teams, working closely with clients and driving revenue targets, developing sales training programs, working with sales organization(s) to develop educational training solutions to improve sales competencies.
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal), consulting, stakeholder management, relationship management and influencing skills at all levels in an organization.
  • Effective track record of using metrics and analytics to drive decision making and increased value generation (sales, satisfaction surveys, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and change to improve efficiency and effectiveness of commercial learning solutions.
  • Passionate about sales and client services, and prior sales experience in a worldwide sales organization (e.g. in a technology company)
  • Passionate about training delivery / experience of delivering training and / or presenting and facilitating content to large groups.
  • Strong, polished executive presence and business acumen a must.
  • Experience working with strategic partners and industry and/or regulator subject matter preferred.
  • Experience delivering formal or informal learning programs using single channel or blended approaches, including virtual and classroom-based instructor-led training (ILT), peer-to-peer learning, on-the-job learning and eLearning
  • Ability to comprehend and translate complex technical concepts into terms that are easy to understand for non-industry audiences in an influential and persuasive manner.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing content and strategies.
  • Experience quantifying ROI for key initiatives.
  • Fluent English required
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
