- Dimensional Control Surveyor (DCS), Land Surveyor and Laser Scanning Surveyor \xe2\x80\xa2 Dimensional Control uses proven engineering survey techniques and modern survey equipment to collect highly accurate as-built 3D data on new or existing mechanical, structural, and civil engineering projects. \xe2\x80\xa2 Our Client is providing subsea structures construction, Fabrication of Jackets, Top Sides, Vessel maintenance and upgrades and so on to Oil & Gas and wind farm Operators globally. Dimensional control supports the above activities, monitor the installation and construction process. Main tasks and responsibilities include: \xe2\x80\xa2 Risk assessments and the safe conduct of survey work within constructions yards, vessel dry-docks, quaysides, offshore platforms/structures, and onboard vessels. \xe2\x80\xa2 Setting out of local grids around structures to be surveyed with sufficient redundancy to allow grid coordinates to be computed, adjusted, and checked with suitable quality indicators. \xe2\x80\xa2 Establishment of absolute survey control by observation and processing of dual frequency GPS carrier phase observations on site and processing of data from remote GPS control stations such as IGS stations or local government stations. \xe2\x80\xa2 Calibrations of surface positioning sensors such as gyrocompasses, pitch and roll sensors based on dimensional control survey results and absolute survey control \xe2\x80\xa2 Offset surveys when vessel is in dry-dock or alongside, providing 3-dimensional offsets for points on the vessel hull (when in dry-dock) in relation to points on the main deck and superstructure. \xe2\x80\xa2 Determine the best method to measure at the required accuracy tolerances \xe2\x80\xa2 Processing of dimensional control data in survey software allowing the structure shape and individual elements such to be circle-fitted, roto-translated using Dimensional Control Software as SC4W or similar. \xe2\x80\xa2 Make geometry and trigonometry calculations \xe2\x80\xa2 Using CAD software to generate detailed lines plan reports \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitoring and ensuring good dimensional quality of projects \xe2\x80\xa2 Support and work alongside Engineers and Superintendents \xe2\x80\xa2 Setup inspection and test plan to monitor the construction of all steel structures elements to build offshore installations.
- To guarantee the greatest accuracy, the DCS is responsible for the maintenance and calibration of the advanced measurement equipment and analyses irregularities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledge of the instruments to be used, including causes of gross, systematic, and random error and the ability to perform field checks of instrument function such as collimation or multipath for GPS receivers \xe2\x80\xa2 The DCS will plan the measurements very closely with the yard, subcontractor and surveyors and will either perform the measurement or guide a team performing the measurements. \xe2\x80\xa2 DCS will analyse all measurements and check them against the contract requirements. \xe2\x80\xa2 Reporting will bedonedirectlytotheconstructionmanager,ProjectSurveyororSurveyPartyChief. \xe2\x80\xa2 The DCS shall be capable performing all laser scanning duties along with collating and processing data.
