Computer Forensic Analyst SUMMARY This position requires competency in computer forensics, electronic discovery, and information security. The primary purpose of this position is to conduct computer forensic investigations, data recovery, and electronic discovery. The candidate will be expected to have a solid foundation of technical experience and expertise, possess strong communication skills, and exceed our clients expectations. The successful candidate will work with a senior level forensic analyst, a project manager, and management personnel, as well as with attorneys and corporate clients. A strong background in forensic lab practices and procedures, evidence handling, and testifying as an expert witness is required. Experience in law enforcement, basic investigations or with a professional services firm is preferred. Will be responsible for quality of client deliverables, assisting with business development, and supporting sales and marketing efforts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following, though other duties may be assigned. Conduct computer forensic investigations and electronic discovery requests for legal and corporate clients, using proprietary methodologies and cutting edge forensic tools. Support the project manager by communicating the progress and any issues of all assignments, and support the sales and marketing teams efforts when requested, by assisting with sales calls to corporate security managers, attorneys, law firms, and litigation support firms. Will also network with members of local trade associations and other groups of interest. COMPETENCIES The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with the following operating systems: Windows, Macintosh, Linux or UNIX, and DOS. Must have understanding of information systems security; network architecture; general database concepts; document management; hardware and software troubleshooting; electronic mail systems, such as Exchange and GroupWise; Microsoft Office applications; intrusion tools; and computer forensic tools such as EnCase, Access Data, and FTK. Experience conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and ethical hacking are desirable. The candidate must be able to conduct exams on compromised computers and servers. Proficiency in conducting live analysis on networks, and multiple platforms is desired. Must possess the ability to articulate in written and oral communication. Must support the Project Manager. Must be able to manage multiple projects and maintain a computer forensic lab on a daily basis. The ability to multi-task is critical. The successful candidate must be very detail-oriented, and must be able to interact with other staff and clients, in person or by phone. Critical thinking, problem solving and the ability to endure long working hours is vital. An extensive interview will be conducted, and will cover a variety of topics, such as network architecture and information security, to computer forensic methods and best practices, as well as investigative techniques. Candidate will have to pass in depth background check. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE The successful candidate will have a combination of education and experience related to the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. Experience with a professional services firm is desirable. The ability to maintain confidentiality is critical. Demonstrated experience of managing day to day aspects of client relationships, as well as forensic cases and corporate incidents is a must. The ability to work extremely well under pressure while maintaining a professional image and approach with clients is critical. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION Possession of professional certifications and membership in professional associations is highly desirable.
