Job Description

The Digital Assets Finance Lead oversees all cryptocurrency-related financial operations for both internal as well as our clients, ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliation, compliance, and financial reporting across multi-chain transactions. The role supports operational efficiency, cashflow management, audit readiness and accuracy of financial data across all wallet and treasury systems.
Key Value Elements
Crypto Accounting & Reconciliation

• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of on-chain and off-chain wallets (BTC, ETH, USDT, etc.).
• Track inbound deposits, withdrawals, bonus credits, and other transactions.
• Validate transaction data from blockchain explorers and internal systems.
• Oversee reconciliations for internal payments as well as between

platforms ? Payment processors ? Cold & hot wallets ? Treasury.
Financial Reporting

• Develop and maintain accounting policies for digital asset recognition, measurement, and disclosure.
• Prepare daily / weekly and monthly financial reports for leadership.
• Well versed with IFRS.
• Track cost basis, realised / unrealised gains and impairment across digital asset holdings.
• Maintain accurate ledger entries for crypto and fiat transactions.
• Create and maintain SOPs for all digital asset processes.
• Build P&L models tailored for ecommerce
• Manage group crypto transfers and settlements.
• Ensure transfer pricing compliance for digital asset movements.
• Coordinate with tax advisors on crypto-specific taxations
• Optimise entity structure for digital asset holdings.

Treasury & Liquidity Management

• Monitor wallet balances to ensure liquidity (hot wallet, operational wallet, cold storage).
• Recommend hedging strategies to reduce volatility exposure.
• Manage crypto-to-fiat conversions when needed.

Compliance, Audit & Risk Controls

• Support AML / KYC compliance reporting by providing transaction data.
• Ensure digital asset operations comply with local regulations.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation of all crypto flows.
• Prepare documentation for regulatory audits and other types of requirements
• Ensure alignment with regulatory entities and financial reporting rules.
• Ensure accurate Corporate Tax and VAT return filing.

Risk Management

• Monitor and manage exposure to cryptocurrency volatility
• Implement hedging strategies where appropriate
• Oversee smart contract risk assessment for DeFi integrations
• Manage counterparty risk with exchanges and custodians
• Maintain disaster recovery and key management procedures

Platform & Process Support

• Work with product, compliance, and engineering teams to resolve transactional discrepancies.
• Improve automation for reporting and reconciliations.
• Design and implement internal controls for crypto operations
• Evaluate and implement blockchain analytics and accounting software
• Support tax implications across jurisdictions (if applicable).

South Asian Market Focus

• Understand user behavior and transaction patterns in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka.
• Adapt reporting formats to regionally relevant currencies (IDR, VND, THB).
• Identify market-specific risks such as regional payment bottlenecks, conversion challenges, or regulatory shifts

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of blockchain transactions, wallets, explorers, and chain analysis.
• Prior experience in crypto accounting, Web3 finance, or ecommerce / fintech preferred.
• Hands-on experience with XERO and sub-ledgers for crypto accounting.
• Hands-on experience and thorough understanding of IFRS for digital assets.
• Familiarity with South Asian markets and their banking/payment ecosystems.
• Knowledge of AML/KYC, fraud patterns and other data flows.
• Strong Excel/Sheets, accounting tools, and familiarity with blockchain analytics tools.
• Ability to work with engineering teams and understand API data sources.
