The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The role ensures that all vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment
Perform routine preventive maintenance and servicing
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
Repair or replace defective parts such as brakes, fuel systems, engines, and transmissions
Conduct engine overhauls and major repairs when required
Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper operation
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Follow safety standards and company maintenance procedures
Respond to breakdowns and emergency repair needs
Requirements & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
Relevant technical certification or diploma is preferred
Physical ability to perform manual and mechanical tasks
Willingness to work overtime or shifts if required
