Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components in diesel-powered cars. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and engine tune-ups. Conduct diagnostic tests using specialized tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues and determine necessary repairs. Repair or replace faulty components such as fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, and steering mechanisms. Adjust, repair, or replace worn parts to ensure the vehicle operates efficiently and complies with safety standards. Perform engine overhauls, rebuilds, and other major repairs as needed. Maintain accurate records of all services performed, including parts used, labor time, and customer recommendations. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in diesel technology and advancements in repair techniques. Inspect and test vehicles to ensure repairs are successful and meet quality and safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience as a diesel car mechanic or diesel technician. In-depth understanding of diesel engines and their associated systems (e.g., fuel, electrical, exhaust). Proficiency with diagnostic tools, equipment, and repair manuals. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Solid understanding of vehicle safety standards and regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred). years of experience working with diesel-powered vehicles. Certification as a diesel mechanic or technician is a plus (e.g., ASE Certification).
