Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dewatering Technician currently based in the UAE to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of dewatering systems, ensuring smooth site operations in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install and maintain various types of dewatering systems (wellpoints, deep wells, sump pumps, etc.).
Set up hoses, pumps, piping, fittings, and filters according to site-specific requirements.
Monitor water levels and pump performance regularly to ensure efficiency and safety.
Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on pumps and related equipment.
Accurately record flow rates, water levels, and operational irregularities.
Manage discharge water in compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
Coordinate with site supervisors and engineers on changes to dewatering needs.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
Adhere to all health & safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE at all times.
Technical Skills
Proficient in installing, operating, and maintaining wellpoint, deep well, and sump pump systems.
Skilled in setting up hoses, valves, piping, and fittings.
Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting for pumps, generators, and control panels.
Ability to monitor and record flow rates and water levels accurately.
Operational & Safety Skills
Strong understanding of PPE use, workplace safety, and environmental regulations for water discharge.
Ability to respond quickly to leaks, blockages, or pump failures.
Physical Skills
Good physical stamina and ability to work in wet, muddy, and outdoor conditions.
Proficiency with hand tools and pipe fittings.
Problem-solving ability under challenging site conditions.
Qualifications
Technical Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
Certification or proven knowledge of groundwater and dewatering principles.
Minimum of 35 years of relevant UAE experience in dewatering systems.
Other Requirements
Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.
Team player with effective communication abilities.
Willingness to work flexible shifts and in demanding site conditions.
