Job Description

Madad FinTech - - DevOps Engineer

Who are we?

Madad is a fintech startup transforming MSME financing in Qatar. Our vision is to unlock the financial potential of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). We are starting as a tech-enabled invoice discounting platform, enabling small businesses to access fast, hassle-free funding. We are a part of the Qatar Central Bank Regulatory Sandbox.

Backed by deep expertise in finance and B2B technology, we are on a mission to empower MSMEs--helping them grow, thrive, and contribute to Qatar's economic diversification. We combine cutting-edge technology with smart risk assessment to create a seamless, transparent, and efficient financing experience.

At Madad, we are building more than just a financial platform; we are fostering a community that drives business growth. If you're passionate about innovation, impact, and shaping the future of MSME finance, we'd love to have you on our team.

What will you be working on?

Design and implement infrastructure architecture

Build and own cloud infrastructure frameworks on GCP with a security-first mindset. Architect scalable and resilient infrastructure for our multi-tenant financial platform. Establish CI/CD pipelines ensuring rapid, consistent, and reliable deployments. Set up monitoring, alerting, and observability for system health, performance, and security. Implement automated disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks aligned with financial-sector expectations.

Contribute to product architecture and development

Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape platform architecture. Design solutions for secure data exchange between financial institutions and third-party integrations. Build infrastructure that manages high transaction peaks during financing cycles. Implement secure storage, backups, lifecycle management, and archiving aligned with regulatory requirements (PDPL, SOC2, PCI where applicable). Support and enhance product functionality where infrastructure-driven improvements are required.

Ensure security and compliance

Enforce best-in-class security practices including encryption at rest/in transit and strong KMS governance. Build infrastructure aligned with financial industry compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001). Implement robust access controls, identity management, and least-privilege IAM policies. Establish audit trails, access logs, and compliance-ready reporting systems for financial transactions.

Optimize system performance

Identify infrastructure bottlenecks impacting transaction processing workflows. Tune database performance for high-volume lending and invoice discounting operations. Design caching and load-balancing strategies for frequently accessed supply chain finance data. Implement auto-scaling and cost-optimization strategies across GCP resources.

Lead and collaborate with technical teams

a. Work closely with developers ensuring architecture and code align with infra standards.

b. Collaborate with product management to convert business requirements into technical and infra specifications.

c. Document architectural decisions, infra runbooks, disaster recovery procedures, and operational guidelines for knowledge sharing.

d. Provide mentorship and technical leadership as the technology team scales.

What are the required education and experience backgrounds?

3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles, ideally in fintech, banking, or regulated tech environments. Strong working knowledge of GCP services including Kubernetes/GKE, VPC, IAM, Cloud SQL, KMS, and monitoring tools. Hands-on experience with Docker, Terraform, CI/CD tooling, and observability stacks. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields. Preferred: Experience with financial-sector security and compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, SOC2, ISO 27001).

What Makes You a Great Fit?

Security-first mindset with strong understanding of risk, compliance, and infrastructure governance. Detail-oriented, analytical, and structured in solving complex infra and performance issues. Strong communicator capable of working with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams. Proactive and accountable, with the ability to manage infrastructure in fast-paced fintech environments. Ability to establish processes, enforce discipline, and maintain operational excellence.

What You Bring to the Table?

Proven experience designing secure, scalable cloud architectures on GCP. Hands-on expertise in CI/CD automation, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code. Strong understanding of securing fintech infrastructure--networking, IAM, encryption, and monitoring. Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, sandbox engagements, and regulatory expectations. Ability to build robust, production-grade infrastructure aligned with financial industry best practices.

What will you get at Madad?

Work directly with Co-founders, the Board, and CXOs on core compliance initiatives. High visibility and ownership of Madad's compliance posture. A meritocratic culture that values integrity, expertise, and leadership. Opportunity to build a compliance function from the ground up and shape Madad's regulatory journey.
