We use Azure as our core, but host on multiple platforms due to specific needs and our rapid pace of development and acquisition. The environment is rapidly changing from IaaS to PaaS to server less. Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain database architecture standards and best practices Participate in the evaluation of emerging technology and tools.
- Provide database architecture leadership and mentor projects.
- Work with development teams in migrating on-premise database to various Azure data stores.
- The DevOps Data Architect will be required to analyze an array of product offerings and business requirements within the organization.
- Participate in the development of Database Architecture and Roadmaps in support of business strategies.
- Determine how the enterprise\xe2\x80\x99s data will be stored and utilized to best provide actionable data to the end user.
- Analyze existing data design and suggest improvements that promote performance, stability and interoperability.
- Work with internal and external resources to develop robust Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes for disparate data sources.
- Work with product management and business subject matter experts to translate business requirements into good database design.
Skills and Experience- Minimum of 7 years of IT/DevOps experience with large-scale data and analytics solutions
- Experience in turning business use cases and requirements into technical solutions
- Experience in business processing mapping of data and analytics solutions
- Experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies
- Experience in managing teams, being a technical coach
- Experience driving knowledge transfer and/or training programs
- Experience with agile delivery methodologies, proof of concepts and prototyping
- Experience with Azure ARM templates, PowerShell and CI/CD using Azure DevOps
- Experience with preparing data for Data Science and Machine Learning purposes
- Ability to conduct data profiling, cataloguing, and mapping for technical design and construction of technical data flows
- Experience with different database technologies (e.g., SQL database(s), NoSQL such as Hadoop, MongoDB, Redis, etc.
- Experience with exposing data to end-users via Power BI, Azure API Apps.
- Knowledge of Azure Data & Analytics PaaS Services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Stream Analytics and Azure SQL DB
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Preferred experience- Cloud-based networking (VNETs, NSGs, Route Tables, Hub/Spoke based architecture etc)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD (YAML and Classic Pipelines)
- PaaS (Web Apps, Function Apps, ASE, Storage Accounts, Azure Redis Cache, Logic Apps, API Management)
- Some experience with Containers/Docker/Kubernetes either for a microservice based architecture or Service Orientated etc
- Git, ARM, Terraform, Ansible, Azure CLI or similar.
- JavaScript, React, C#, Java, PowerShell, Bash or similar.
