Job Description

The Abaya & Jalabiya Designer is responsible for creating innovative, culturally inspired, and trend-driven designs for abayas, jalabiyas, and related modest wear collections. The role requires strong creativity, a deep understanding of Middle Eastern fashion trends, fabric selection, embroidery techniques, and garment construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop original and fashionable designs for abayas, jalabiyas, and other modest wear aligned with brand identity and seasonal trends. Create detailed sketches, mood boards, and color stories for each collection. Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments suitable for luxury and ready-to-wear lines. Work closely with pattern makers and tailors to ensure design accuracy and quality production. Conduct market and trend research to stay updated with fashion movements, customer preferences, and cultural trends. Oversee sample creation, fittings, and design adjustments before final production. Maintain consistency in sizing, fit, and finishing standards. Coordinate with marketing teams for lookbooks, photo shoots, and promotional materials. Manage time efficiently to meet collection deadlines. Maintain confidentiality of upcoming collections and design concepts.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Fashion Design or related field. Proven experience as an Abaya or Jalabiya Designer (minimum 2-3 years preferred). Strong sketching and illustration skills (manual or digital using software such as Adobe Illustrator or CLO 3D). Knowledge of traditional and modern abaya/jalabiya styles, embroidery, and fabric types. Creative eye for color, detail, and texture. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Attributes:

Experience working with luxury or couture modest wear brands. Understanding of GCC fashion market and consumer preferences. Passion for innovation while respecting traditional aesthetics.
