Design Engineer - Electrical / Mechanical
Job Summary:
The Design Engineer will be integral to our pre-construction and engineering team, developing innovative, efficient, and compliant MEP designs. You will transform client requirements into detailed, buildable solutions that meet Drake & Scull's reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and engineer advanced MEP systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical Power, Lighting, Low Current).
• Perform detailed calculations (load analysis, ducting/pipe sizing, voltage drop, short circuit).
• Prepare technical submittals, including drawings, schematics, equipment selection, and BOQs for consultant approval.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and specialized design software (e.g., HAP, ETAP, Dialux) to produce detailed designs.
• Review and approve subcontractor shop drawings to ensure compliance with the design intent and project specifications.
• Provide technical support to the procurement and site execution teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies, sustainability practices (like LEED), and regional code updates.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 3-5 years of MEP design experience within a consulting firm or a leading MEP contractor in the GCC.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office. BIM experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, IEEE) and local UAE codes.
