Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Deputy Project Director to join our Abu Dhabi team! In this role you will support the Project Director in leading a team of professionals and provide direction and management for every phase of a major road, bridge and tunnel infrastructure program to assure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.
What You\'ll Be Doing:
Act as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution when required.
Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.
Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
Oversee establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
Establish the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
Assist Project Director to Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
Assign responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths.
Provide input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates. Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement and payroll operations, etc., if required.
Mobilize company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
Discuss the qualifications required of the key project positions in specific detail with the profit center and department managers.
Work with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
Work with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
Support the Project Director in maintaining current and timely change orders.
Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.
Monitor and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.
Establish weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Qualifications/Skills You\'ll Bring:
Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering from a reputable institution
Minimum 20 years of experience in program management, including supervisory/managerial experience
Ability to be Client facing and mange numerous internal and external stakeholders
Prior experience leading large scale roads, bridge, tunnel and associated infrastructure projects is required
Significant managerial experience of a large group of project managers, Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel
Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering is preferred
Proven ability for managing a large group of engineering/technical personnel
Directing work involving complex technical situations
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required
Possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.
