JOB TITLE: Deputy Manager, Telecom

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Simultaneously supervises the telecom discipline-related scope of work in 3\xe2\x80\x934 EPC proposals and 2-3 projects, depending on the size of the proposal or project. Lead a team of Telecoms Engineers in all respects, support and guide the team to ensure design integrity in projects,
  • proposals and implement telecom design procedures through the team. Shall ensures overall quality and technical excellence for the jobs of reporting principals and lead engineers\xe2\x80\x99 teams.Resource management within the team and supervision of telecom engineers and designers.
  • Provide leadership and boost morale among the Telecom Team members under his direct supervision. Ensure the manpower resources of the telecom team are adequate and are utilized efficiently.
  • Work as technical experts during various phases of project execution and proposal engineering. Assist in the development and preparation of telecom system schemes and the identification of telecom equipment specifications and interfaces.
  • Review and design structured cabling for optical fiber transmission, microwave, trunked radio, conventional and satellite radio communication,LAN / PABX, and telephones specific to oil and gas standards.
  • Provides guidance on plant security and safety system design, like CCTV, PAGA, and GPS applications.
  • Supervise and review the development of various type of studies like radio link budgeting, radio coverage calculations, acoustic coverage, optical link budget calculations, etc.
  • Work with the project, customers, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide necessary support and guidance to project control, construction, and commissioning.
  • Participate in the contract review process and provide the required inputs to lead engineers.
  • Perform the responsibilities of the lead engineer in the event of a large project. Also, if working as a lead engineer on a project, he will prepare \xe2\x80\x98Fortnight Reports\xe2\x80\x99 or any other report as desired by management to indicate schedule progress, quantity, man hour, and manpower forecasts and will keep tight control on the overruns.
  • Review contract requirements for project execution and organize the preparation of the Technical Document Register (TDR) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) with other work centers by identifying requirements and scope of work.
  • Ensure the assignment and distribution of manpower for the execution of engineering activities within budgeted project man-hours within SLA with VECs. Recommend measures to optimize overall man-hours and execution costs.
  • Engage with Quality Assurance for quality issues. Ensure strict compliance with the company\'s quality procedures. Organize internal quality audits and peer reviews for monitoring quality and ensuring timely close-out of actions. Lead peer review group for technical integrity check of proposals and projects
  • Facilitate Telecoms workshops on Proposals and projects and assist the proposal and project team to identify potential risk
  • Assist in promoting innovation, departmental improvement, and teamwork.
  • Assist Head of the Department (HOD) in the development of Telecoms Standards
  • Assist the HOD in developing strategies for continuous improvement of the knowledge base, cost consciousness, quality, and safety in response to the demands of the EPC business.
  • Provide feedback to the HOD for the employee performance evaluations, establish performance criteria, identify employee strengths and weaknesses, and recommend training and development requirements.
  • She will assist in recruitment tasks by identifying qualified engineers and designers.Perform related duties as and when required by Head of the Department
  • Provides technical support and guidance to principal engineers and senior engineers in converting the project from concept to detailed engineering.
  • Decisions are limited to administrative and technical issues. Consultation with the Head of Discipline, Telecoms (HoD) on the main issues that may affect discipline performance.
  • Directs the resource allocation and workloads of a team of subordinates.
  • Typically leading a group of professionals or technical staff.
  • Responsible for managing supervisors.
