Deputy Head of Secondary
for the academic year 2026-2027 at
GEMS British International School of Madinaty
. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Secondary and leading initiatives that drive academic excellence, student engagement, and staff development within the secondary school.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head of Secondary in the strategic planning and operational management of the secondary school, ensuring high standards of education and care for students.
Support the implementation of the school's vision and values, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture that fosters student achievement.
Collaborate with department heads to develop and deliver a high-quality curriculum and effective teaching and learning practices across all year groups.
Monitor student performance and progress, using data to inform interventions and support strategies to enhance student achievement.
Provide leadership and guidance to secondary staff, facilitating professional development opportunities and conducting observations and evaluations.
Promote student well-being and engagement through effective pastoral care and support structures.
Engage with parents and the community to build strong relationships that support student learning and development.
Act as a role model for staff and students, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence and continuous improvement.
Assist in the organization and management of school events, examinations, and extracurricular activities, ensuring a rich and engaging experience for students.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant leadership qualification (e.g., NPQSL) is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role within a secondary school setting.
Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and best practices in teaching and learning.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and students.
Proficient in using data to inform instruction and improve student performance.
Commitment to student-centered education and a passion for promoting a positive school environment.
