Job Description
The National, the leading quality Middle East news title, is looking for a deputy business editor to join our Abu Dhabi-based newsroom. The deputy business editor, will help the business editor to run the business department. The role requires overseeing the commissioning and editing of content across all platforms. Candidates should have a deep understanding of companies, markets, and finance in the UAE and wider Middle East, proficiency in covering corporate earnings, and knowledge of geopolitical sensitivities. Management experience is important, as is a proven ability to increase the readership of business content. Applicants should be fluent in English and Arabic. The National has become a leading source for news about the Middle East and beyond. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, where we employ 130 journalists, we also have offices in London, Washington DC, Beirut, Cairo, and Riyadh, plus correspondents elsewhere in the region and the rest of the world
