Context:
The Structural Engineer will lead the structural engineering efforts for a rail project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of structural components, ensuring compliance with international standards, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver a world-class rail system.
Missions/Main Duties:
Lead and supervise a team of structural engineers and designers involved in deport and maintenance facility design
Develop and implement design strategies that align with project goals and timelines.
Oversee the structural design of depot buildings, stations, administrative facilities and service structures.
Ensure designs meet all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to optimize design processes.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs into the overall project plan.
Participate in regular project meetings and provide updates on design progress and challenges.
Coordinate with external consultants and contractors as needed
Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of structural designs.
Conduct regular design reviews and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
Ensure all designs comply with local, national, and international engineering standards and regulations.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in structural engineering.
Manage design budgets and resources effectively to ensure project efficiency.
Identify and address potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
