JOB PURPOSE:

DM Sustainability is primarily responsible to lead, develop and deliver the corporate sustainability strategy that positively impacts the triple bottom line of the company i.e. environmental, social and financial and create long term value for all stakeholders. DM Sustainability ensures that sustainability is fully embedded into business strategy and operations, fosters a culture of sustainability within the company and amongst all its stakeholders, monitor and report the company's sustainability performance, manage stakeholder engagement to address the needs of all stakeholders. DM Sustainability also partners with Corporate Communications to enhance internal and external communication on ADD's sustainability programme and initiatives among various stakeholders in order to showcase the company's commitment to sustainable development and improve its reputation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities

Sustainability Strategy and Policy Formulation

Establish sustainability strategy, short term and long term sustainability targets and key performance indicators in alignment with the national and international goals towards sustainable development

Develop action plan and roadmap to achieve sustainability objectives and targets

Develop and implement sustainability policies that improve environmental and social performance and contribute to local community and economy

Coordinate with relevant business functions to establish key policies and processes related to environmental, social and governance topics in line with international best practices and requirements of sustainability standards, frameworks etc.

Conduct research to identify environmental and sustainability concerns, interests, and issues and benchmark best practices within the industry and local peers to come up with the recommendations that help strengthens the company's sustainability governance and elevate environmental, social and economic performance

Align with the company's Health, Safety & Environment division to identify and implement decarbonization and net zero targets to address climate change and environmental concerns including energy savings opportunities, renewable energy generation, use of innovative technologies to reduce carbon emissions, identify ways to reduce consumption of resources and recycle and reuse waste to promote circular economy across the business

Identify the key climate related risks and develop mitigation strategy/plan and recommendations to leverage on opportunities arising from the climate change impact on the company's business

Assess and analyze company policies and processes in coordination with different business functions to identify innovative solutions to balance business obligations with the goal of respecting, supporting, and improving the environmental and social impact in accordance with the company's commitment to sustainability

Sustainability Performance Monitoring and Reporting

Establish sustainability data governance and processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, reliability and completeness of collected data on sustainability performance metrics

Oversee collection and analysis of company-wide data on sustainability initiatives, programs and key performance indicators and provide senior management with relevant analysis and recommendations on sustainability programs

Ensure the measurement of the company's carbon emissions and inventory in line with international best practices such as Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol

Establish processes and procedures to ensure the company's preparedness to collect and report Scope 3 carbon emissions

Prepare the quarterly and annual sustainability dashboard for the senior management and the Board of Directors

Benchmark the company's sustainability performance against its peers and identify and recommend areas of improvements

Lead the preparation of the company's annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report in line with international reporting standards and frameworks such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

Prepare presentation material on the company's Sustainability strategy, targets, initiatives, performance etc. to raise awareness about the company's sustainability commitments amongst key stakeholders such as employees, investors, customers, suppliers, regulators, ESG rating agencies etc.

ESG Rating Agency Engagement and Reporting

Regular engagement with ESG Rating agencies to understand their rating methodology and criteria to align the company's sustainability strategy and action plan with the expectations

Analyze ESG rating agencies' report on the company and provide feedback to the senior management with recommendations to improve ESG Ratings

Report the company's sustainability performance, strategy, targets and progress to ESG Rating agencies with objective to improve the company's ESG rating and perception

Establish processes and ensure reporting of the company's ESG performance data to rating agencies' portal such as S&P CSA questionnaire, CDP disclosures etc.

Respond to queries and information requests of the rating agencies related to the company's ESG performance

Knowledge building and awareness trainings/campaigns

Conduct trainings and campaigns internally and externally to raise awareness about sustainability topics, issues and latest trends

Plan different activities such as workshops, events, quizzes, awards, newsletters, participation in working groups etc. to involve different stakeholders in the implementation and achievement of the company's sustainability commitments

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degrees in Strategy, Finance or any other relevant discipline

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

12 years of experience across various functions in Oil and Gas Retailer including Strategy, Corporate Planning, Retail, Operations, Projects etc. with minimum 3-4 years in position of increasing managerial responsibility

Experience of Corporate planning and performance management in service-based industry.

Regional exposure and retail background are a plus.

Highly skilled in aligning goals with strategic direction

In depth knowledge of ADNOC Distribution's business objectives, operations and of the regional laws and regulations
