Job Summary:

The Surgical Dental Doctor (Oral Surgeon) specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects involving the mouth, jaw, face, and related structures. The role includes performing complex dental surgeries such as tooth extractions, wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, and treatment of facial trauma or pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive oral examinations and review patient history to determine the need for surgical intervention. Perform surgical procedures such as: Complex extractions (e.g., impacted wisdom teeth) Dental implant placement Bone grafting and sinus lifts Cyst or tumor removal Apicoectomy Corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) Management of facial trauma or fractures Administer local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia in compliance with regulations. Collaborate with general dentists and specialists (orthodontists, prosthodontists, periodontists) for interdisciplinary treatment planning. Provide pre-operative and post-operative instructions and care. Prescribe medication as needed for pain management and infection control. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and surgical reports. Adhere to all infection control protocols and safety standards. Keep updated on advancements in surgical dentistry, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry (BDS, DMD, or DDS) from an accredited institution. Master's Degree or Postgraduate Specialty in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (MDS or equivalent). Valid license to practice as an Oral Surgeon in [insert region/country, e.g., UAE - DHA/DOH/MOH license]. Proven clinical experience in surgical dental procedures. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.

Ability to remain calm under pressure and in emergency situations. Team-oriented and collaborative approach to patient care.
