The

DCAS Advance Paramedic

is responsible for providing

advanced pre-hospital emergency medical care

to patients during emergency and non-emergency situations in accordance with

Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS)

protocols. The role requires rapid assessment, critical decision-making, and safe patient transportation while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care, professionalism, and patient dignity.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Emergency Care

Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide

advanced life support (ALS)

and

basic life support (BLS)

as per DCAS clinical guidelines. Perform patient assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment during pre-hospital care. Administer medications, oxygen therapy, IV/IO access, cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, and airway management as per scope of practice. Manage trauma, cardiac, medical, pediatric, and obstetric emergencies effectively. Monitor and reassess patient condition throughout transport and handover.
Operations & Transport

Ensure safe and timely transport of patients to appropriate healthcare facilities. Operate ambulance equipment and ensure readiness at all times. Maintain accurate patient care reports (PCR) and complete all required documentation. Communicate effectively with dispatch, emergency departments, and multidisciplinary teams.
Equipment & Safety

Inspect, maintain, and restock ambulance equipment and medical supplies. Follow infection control, health & safety, and vehicle safety protocols. Participate in emergency drills, disaster response, and mass-casualty incidents when required.
Professional Conduct

Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical standards at all times. Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. Participate in continuous medical education (CME), training, and performance evaluations.
