We are seeking a results-oriented database engineer to help in Migrating the databases in different engine type (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) for our customers either from on premises to cloud or from cloud to cloud, databases will be migrated to virtual machines or as managed services on cloud (platforms like AWS, Azure, etc.). This will include the installation, configuration, and implementation of complex systems for multiple projects. To ensure success as a database engineer, you should exhibit knowledge of best practices in database management and experience in a similar role. Responsibilities:
- Assess, design, plan, and implement migration database projects.
- Able to deal with different engine type of databases (Oracle, SQLServer, MYSQL,etc.)
- Implement HA and DR solutions for Oracle, SQLServer databases
- Install, configure database software on different OS system (Linux, Redhat, Windows, etc)
- Execute any required database upgrades and patches.
- Apply best practices, strategies, methodologies, and approaches to large scale projects.
- Created and scheduled backup scripts, with all related Backup/Restore test and documentation.
- Bachelor\'s degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, or similar.
- A minimum of 3+ years\' experience in database administration (working on cloud environment is preferred).
- Extensive experience with database technologies and architecture.
- Extensive experience with migrating large databases on different types.
- Sound knowledge of best practices in database engineering and data security.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Database Administration certificates (such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL etc.).
- Database Management certificates on Cloud
- Candidate should willing to provide Abu Dhabi attested housing contract (Tawtheeq) in their name 2 months after joining.
