Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: Design, implement and maintain ADNOC's data analytics methodology in order to model complex ADNOC problems while realizing ADNOC insights and identifying opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. Conduct data preparation and implementation of modelling stages to test and run application specific algorithms for processing of real-time oil & gas data feeds onto processing platform and presenting real-time decision support data and novel, high impact solutions to the end-users.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Algorithm Development Define, implement, operate and maintain ADNOC's data analytics methodology in order to model complex ADNOC problems while realizing ADNOC insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. Conduct scoping session and liaise with businesses to identify matters to be assessed and analysed using appropriate data and appropriate analysis tools.

Analyse scientific methods and the results to solve client analytics problems; document results and methodologies timely and accurately. Validate the analysis by comparing appropriate samples. Conduct regular market surveys and be aware of different technological announcements related data analytics. Recommend ongoing improvements to methods and algorithms that lead to findings, including new information. Provide business metrics for the overall project to reflect improvements by periodic monitoring over multiple iterations. Provide on-going tracking and monitoring of performance of decision systems and statistical models. Conduct workshops and session to help the business lines/organization understand the principles and math behind the process to drive organizational buy-in. Educate the organization both from IT and the business perspectives on new approaches, such as testing hypotheses and statistical validation of results.

Data Preparation Identify what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources, leveraging new data collection processes such as smart meters Support in the application of patterns and variations in the volume, speed and other characteristics of data supporting the data analytics initiative, the type of data (e.g., images, text, clickstream or metering data) in predictive analysis. Share finding internally and identify opportunities to conduct tests and POCs.x

Algorithm Testing & Application Analyse patterns and variations in the volume, speed and other characteristics of data supporting the data analytics initiative, the type of data (e.g., images, text, clickstream or metering data) in predictive analysis. Contribute to algorithms design and definition; validates analysis by comparing appropriate samples. Identify, develop, maintain, test and run algorithms using appropriate programming languages. In collaboration with GITU representatives, manage the software / hardware platform to support data analytics. Implement various modelling stages to test and run application specific algorithms for processing of real-time oil & gas data feeds onto processing platform and presenting real-time decision support data and novel, high impact solutions to end-users. Conduct periodic tracking and performance monitoring of decision systems and statistical models and conduct tests and proof of concepts (POC) for identified opportunities as per recommended plan. Ensure timely implementation of agreed improvements to methods and algorithms to enhance productivity and quality. Apply complex predictive analytic techniques extracting patterns and variations from data and capturing relationships between explanatory variables and the predictive variables from past occurrences, and exploiting it to predict future oil & gas trends and behaviour. Employ the appropriate algorithm to discover patterns. Conduct predictive analysis of historical operational signatures for ADNOC asset comparing it to real-time operating data to detect subtle changes in equipment behaviour and identify changes in system behaviour well before traditional operational alarms, creating more time for analysis and corrective action. Develop accurate reports and analysis to support and enhance evidence-based decision making and policy formation in areas such as strategic planning, resource allocation, and fiscal management for Midstream and Downstream functions.

Supervision Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives. Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective department objectives.

Budgets Provide input for preparation of the Department budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver Department objectives. Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures Implement approved Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department's work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes. Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Minimum Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Mathematics or equivalent discipline

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills Minimum 9 years of experience in large-scale data analysis and Data Analytics and software development Experience with data visualization tools Experience with data preparation (denoising, feature engineering and selection), model training, application (classification, regression) Experience with data sourcing, aggregation, collation, manipulation and enrichment with large data sets
