About the Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist who will support our School with insights gained from analysing school company and student data. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for optimisation and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have a proven ability to drive improvement and results with their data-based insights.

Data input and management:

• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging school data to drive school improvement.
• Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of school development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
• Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.

• Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize school improvement, stakeholder experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
• Coordinate with different school teams to implement models, distribute data and information and monitor outcomes.
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy, driving school improvement
• Write, design and produce simple snapshot reports illustrating general trends in school data

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Work as the data strategist, identifying and integrating new datasets that can be leveraged through our school capabilities and work closely with all school teams to strategize and execute the development of data
• Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various school areas
• Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for business needs, and collect large structured and unstructured datasets and variables
• Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
• Analyse data for trends and patterns, and Interpret data with a clear objective in mind
• Implement analytical models to drive school improvement
• Communicate analytical solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as needed to operational systems
• Process any school data as per requirements
• Manage, organise and lead internal and external assessments and examinations, and all associated data
• Assume the responsibilities of any member of the Data & Systems Team, in the event of absence or cover being required
• Perform any of the duties assigned to the Data & Systems Team
• Perform any duties, as reasonably assigned by the Assistant Principal (Data & Systems), even where not covered by this job scope

About the School

GEMS FirstPoint School (FPS) opened in 2014, it is positioned in the heart of The Villa community in Dubai.
