EPAM is looking for a talented

Data Scientist

to join our team in Abu Dhabi. You will work on a dynamic fintech project that is transforming digital financial services across the region.


In this role, you will work with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques to develop AI solutions for financial services. This role combines machine learning, natural language processing and data science skills to create intelligent systems that enhance our fintech platform's capabilities. You will collaborate with experienced team members while developing your expertise in cutting-edge AI technologies for financial applications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and deploy language models and RAG systems for financial applications, optimizing and fine-tuning models Support research initiatives in language models and retrieval-augmented generation, staying updated with the latest advancements in NLP, machine learning and AI Collect, preprocess and analyze datasets to support model training and evaluation, contributing to data pipeline development Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and methodologies, identifying areas for improvement Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers and researchers to deliver data science solutions Document methodologies, experiments and results, preparing reports and presenting findings to team members and stakeholders

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics or a related field (master's preferred) Minimum 2 years of experience in data science and machine learning Experience with data science projects and model development preferred Some experience working with machine learning models, with exposure to NLP or language models a plus Proficiency in Python programming and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) Knowledge of SQL and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Hands-on experience with data visualization, machine learning algorithms, statistical methods and basic deep learning Strong communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills Desire to learn and grow in data science and AI technologies

Nice to have

Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or AI/machine learning Basic understanding of MLOps and model deployment Knowledge of distributed computing frameworks Experience with data engineering tools and pipelines Understanding of financial services data and analytics Interest in financial modeling and risk assessment Awareness of AI applications in financial services
