THE TEAM

The Addleshaw Goddard data and tech team is a growing international team of data protection specialists supporting a wide variety of global clients on the full spectrum of data compliance, transactional and advisory matters. The team enjoy a rich and diverse workload - both transactional and advisory - which includes fintech and blockchain counselling on NFTs, cryptocurrency and digital payments, litigation (including IP and regulatory) as well as strategic IT projects and their compliance.

At AG, we know the players framing new regulations for AI, cryptocurrency, IoT and wireless devices, autonomous vehicles, and data privacy and management. Our relationships with lawmakers, combined with our experience, help us predict and prevent risks and uncover opportunities.

THE ROLE

• Advise technology companies, telecommunication companies, OTT operators, e-payment and fintech companies for regulatory compliance
• Advise clients on technology procurement, development, licensing, transfer, and protection of investment in the technology sector, and commercialisation of software applications
• Advise and assist clients on the use and deployment of hardware and digital infrastructure, provision of e-commerce services and mergers and acquisitions, provision of strategic position, protection, and profit from their valuable intellectual property in diverse market worldwide
• Formulate legal strategies and analytical responses to clients and acting as the primary point of contact for TMT clients
• Draft, review, and finalise technology related contracts such as consulting services, IT products, software and data processing along with data privacy
• Perform legal research when and as necessary to resolve legal issues and determine the appropriate course of action regarding a particular issue/case
• Client relationship development

YOU

• You are a qualified lawyer with a breadth of experience across Data Protection, Technology and IT Law (Ideally 3-6yrsPQE, although other levels of PQE will be considered).
• You are skilled and experienced in both advisory and transactional matters.
• You are commercially astute and able to convincingly advise a range of clients and nurture trusting relationships.
• A self-starter, you enjoy tackling new challenges and applying your practical and commercial mindset to find the best solutions.
• You are a technician, and pride yourself on your strong attention to detail and diligence.
• You have a keen intellect and are highly motivated, ambitious, and eager to develop your career.
