Job Description

Job Summary
The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is responsible for ensuring the organization's compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PIPEDA, etc.). The DPO will oversee data privacy policies, conduct audits, provide training, and act as the primary contact for data protection authorities and individuals whose data is processed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance & Legal Oversight

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection laws.
• Monitor changes in privacy regulations and update policies accordingly.
• Act as the primary contact for data protection authorities (DPAs) and handle regulatory inquiries.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for high-risk processing activities.

2. Policy Development & Implementation

• Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ensure proper record-keeping of data processing activities (Article 30 GDPR).
• Advise on data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, etc.).

3. Risk Management & Audits

• Conduct regular privacy audits and compliance checks.
• Identify and mitigate data protection risks.
• Manage data breaches, including notifications to authorities and affected individuals.

4. Training & Awareness

• Train employees on data protection best practices.
• Promote a culture of privacy awareness across the organization.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

• Serve as the point of contact for data subjects and regulators.
• Advise management on privacy-related legal obligations.
• Collaborate with IT, Legal, HR, and Marketing to ensure compliance in all business processes.
