I have partnered with one of the most recognized and innovative banks here in the UAE, which is looking to add a Data Platform Owner to its growing team here in Dubai.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in building and designing data platforms. The Technical Data Platforms are responsible and accountable for data platforms, along with the efficient running of Hadoop, SAP HANA, Informatica administration, SAS, and Microsoft Power BI.

Responsibilities:

Developing and maintaining a data platform: You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a data platform that meets the needs of your organization. This involves selecting the appropriate technology stack, ensuring scalability, and optimizing performance.

Managing data governance: You will need to ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and secure. This involves establishing policies, procedures, and standards for data management, as well as monitoring compliance.

Managing data integration: You will need to ensure that data from various sources can be integrated into the data platform. This involves designing and implementing data pipelines, data transformations, and data integration workflows.

Managing data storage and retrieval: You will need to ensure that data can be stored and retrieved efficiently. This involves selecting appropriate storage technologies, optimizing data retrieval, and ensuring data consistency.

Managing data analytics: You will need to ensure that data can be analyzed effectively. This involves designing and implementing data analytics workflows, selecting appropriate analytics tools, and ensuring that analytics results are accurate and reliable.

Collaborating with stakeholders: You will need to work closely with various stakeholders, including business users, data analysts, and data scientists, to understand their data needs and ensure that the data platform meets those needs.

Managing data platform upgrades and maintenance: You will need to ensure that the data platform is upgraded and maintained regularly to ensure that it remains secure, reliable, and up-to-date.

Managing the data platform team: You may need to manage a team of data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to ensure that the data platform is effectively designed, implemented, and maintained.

Qualifications:

At least 10 years of experience in the Banking & Finance industry, along with at least 5 years of professional experience in Data Warehouse and Analytics

Exposure to Modern Data Warehouse Architecture and Analytics platforms

Working experience with ETL tool, preferably Informatica

Experience working with Hadoop or HANA, and Hadoop-related tools e.g. Spark, Scqoop

Governance including a glossary, metadata, data quality, master data management, and data lifecycle management
