\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Leading the design, development, and implementation of data architectures that align with technology and business strategies, including transitions and target operating states.

\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Leading the data engineering team responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, data solutions and data infrastructure. This includes overseeing the development of processes, data integration frameworks, and data quality checks.

\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Establishing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and standards.

\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Complying with regulatory requirements and implementing industry best practices to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data across the organisation.

\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Working with key stakeholders to understand their data needs or concerns and translate them into technical requirements.

\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Providing guidance and expertise on data-related matters and driving alignment between data architecture, data engineering, our IT functions and business objectives or goals.

\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Effective stakeholder management and reporting, ensuring our stakeholders are well informed from executives through to those delivering and supporting business critical operational services.

\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Contributing to achieve the best cost / performance outcomes on our global data and analytics platform.

\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Working hand in glove with the Strategy and Architecture team, and closely with our Digital Transformation office, ensuring standards and best practices are adopted, whilst aligning with business priorities.

\xc2\xa7 \xc2\xa7Developing and leading the Data Engineering team, motivating, and inspiring the team to design, create and maintain fantastic data solutions which are key to our business success.

Key Experience

\xc2\xa7 Proven experience leading data architecture and engineering initiatives for complex, or global organisations, with a focus on Azure data technologies such as data lake, data warehousing, data factory, purview and others such as data bricks.

\xc2\xa7 Expertise in data modelling, database design, and data integration, data acquisition and best practices. Proven history ineternal and external data from a broad range of applications across a broad hosting range such as IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.

\xc2\xa7 Extensive experience with cloud-based data platforms and infrastructure, such as Azure.

\xc2\xa7 Proven ability to build effective data models, critical data lists, enterprise data catalogues, mastership matrices, data flow diagrams, data principles and standards.

\xc2\xa7 The ability to analyse complex problems and design effective solutions.

\xc2\xa7 Effective communication of complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

\xc2\xa7 The ability to lead and manage a team, including setting goals, providing guidance, and developing team members to ensure that they have the necessary skills to perform their job responsibilities effectively.

\xc2\xa7 Experience working with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Power BI.

\xc2\xa7 Understanding of Master Data Management technologies, processes and establishing design principles.

\xc2\xa7 Experience with data governance programmes and a solid understanding of GDPR.

\xc2\xa7 Proven knowledge of all data architecture aspects and the ability to stay up to date with key technology developments - also a wider affinity with the other Enterprise Architecture domains.

\xc2\xa7 Ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value to the organisation.

\xc2\xa7 A delivery and result oriented mindset with a hands-on attitude, with an understanding of the long-term implications of short to intermediate decision making.

\xc2\xa7 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inspire whilst being clear and concise

\xc2\xa7 Experience with ML, AI, NLP and LLM advantageous.

Qualifications:

\xc2\xa7 Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in computer science, Information Technology, related fields or equivalent industry experience.

\xc2\xa7 7+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering.

\xc2\xa7 Strong programming skills in SQL and at least one of the major programming languages such as Python.

\xc2\xa7 Data Governance or Data Management professional certifications would be beneficial such as CDMP.

\xc2\xa7 Azure Data certifications such as Data Engineer and Data Analyst.

\xc2\xa7 TOGAF certification would be advantageous.
