Job Description

The role involves providing subject matter expertise and assisting in the development of the annual audit plan, based on a comprehensive risk assessment and identification of opportunities for process improvements with a focus on fraud risks. The person in this role will lead fraud and forensics engagements and ensure recommendations for improvement in governance, risk management and control align with broader organizational objectives. They will also monitor the fraud risk profile, contribute to improving operational efficiency, and support the internal audit team in executing integrated risk-based audits. Additionally, they will lead fraud compliance and risk assessment projects, manage and provide oversight on fraud risk management assignments, and lead fraud investigations. They will also build relationships with stakeholders, collaborate with other assurance providers, and provide support in law enforcement and litigation. They will also identify tools and technologies to improve fraud risk management activities and ensure the implementation of the performance management process for staff. Success in this role will be demonstrated by satisfactory investigation of complex issues, utilizing forensic data analytics to manage risk and regulatory compliance, and improvement in the fraud risk management activities of the organization. The individual in this role will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise and contributing to the overall annual audit plan, based on a comprehensive risk assessment and identified opportunities for process improvements, with a specific focus on risks related to fraud. They will lead risk assessments of auditable entities within the audit universe to assist audit leadership in developing the annual audit plan and risk assessment. They will lead the delivery of fraud and forensics engagements such as project monitoring, issue resolution, and escalation in order to achieve planned objectives and goals. The individual will ensure that recommendations for improvement to governance, risk management and control are balanced with broader organizational and business objectives of other functions and departments. They will monitor the fraud risk profile and emerging risks based on internal and external factors and update management of the potential impacts. They will identify root causes and appropriate solutions for recurring or thematic audit issues and actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives. The individual will support the operational internal audit team in executing integrated risk-based audits by assigning resources with the right skills and overseeing the quality of performance and deliverables. They will monitor the status of implementation of high priority management action plans (corrective actions) and provide advisory services as required by management or by request of the Board of Directors via the Audit & Risk Committee. In the area of Fraud Risk Prevention, Detection and Response, the individual will lead the fraud compliance and risk assessment, and other related forensic projects (business and digital). They will work on a diverse portfolio of projects, gaining exposure to a fast-paced market with evolving challenges and opportunities and to support the grooming of fraud risk management and forensics talent within the organization. They will manage and provide oversight on fraud risk management assignments using data extraction, data analytics and management reporting. The individual will also lead fraud investigations including interviews/interrogations, forensic data recovery, computer imaging, reporting results and recommending improvements in internal controls that focus on anti-fraud activities. They will perform automated transactional reviews across all business entities to detect and investigate fraud, monitor the corporate integrity line for fraud events and collaborate with management on investigations to ensure strict compliance with the Code of Ethics/Standards of Conduct. They will provide expert guidance on the development of policies and roll out of training and awareness campaigns to enhance the control environment, prepare and conduct fraud prevention training to management teams. In terms of Stakeholders\' Engagement, the individual will build relationships with stakeholders across the organization to stay at the forefront of changes to the business and to promote the value of the Fraud & Forensics unit within the internal audit function. They will facilitate workshops with key Executive and/or Senior Management across the organization\'s geographical footprint to identify appropriate solutions for recurring or thematic fraud-related issues. They will assist stakeholders to set up anti-fraud units through designing the governance and developing the required policies and procedures and building the structure of the unit. They will collaborate with other assurance providers in the organization such as Risk Management, Legal & Compliance, Information Security, etc. to facilitate comprehensive business assurance, including key risk indicators reporting. In terms of Technical Responsibilities, the individual will identify tools, techniques, and technologies that are needed to improve or sustain the fraud risk management activities\' posture across the whole organization. They will ensure the deployment of a governance framework that aligns with domain-specific international standards and benchmarks. In terms of Human Capital Responsibilities, they will ensure the implementation of the performance management process, provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles, identify training needs, and coordinate with the Human Capital department to ensure facilitation of training requirements. They will ensure constant availability of the required competent staff to support the organization in meeting all its responsibilities, plans, and objectives.
