Business Context and Main Accountabilities
This role is a management position within the Personal Care METR business unit, to both build capability in CTI and Claims, as well as lead the CTI function with the CMI and Brand teams. The role requires a candidate that is passionate about consumers, their needs, concerns, likes and dislikes, and driven to find creative solutions and challenges the status quo The ideal candidate needs to be inspired by science, and be able to bring data and technology to life for non-technical business partners, customers, beauty editors and influencers, and consumers, through creative visualization and story-telling.
To develop and execute claims strategies within Personal Care, including novel and challenging claims territories, partner with global experts, and advance these into the market. In so doing there will be co-ordination and partnership with legal and regulatory teams and business unit partners to ensure claims are supportable, defendable, and compliant with Unilever standards and local regulations.
To support the development of product demonstrations and strengthen the teams capability to create and communicate product benefit through demonstrations and the right support for different media channels.
Strengthen sensory understanding, understand and use test methods and generate and use predictive models linking product sensory and consumer benefits to enable accelerated benchmarking against competition and speed to market for innovations while eliminating unnecessary and expensive consumer testing.
Lead and execute research in the business unit, across markets, having a working knowledge or lab and appraisal testing methodologies, consumer science and consumer test methodologies, and an appreciation on data management and statistics.

Relevant Experience
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Psychology, or Consumer Science
  • 5 Years+ of R&D experience, with at least 2 years in CTI / CMI
  • Proven track record of combining science, sensory, and consumer insights to drive innovations and activations
  • Experience in claims and demo ideation and generation
  • Strong cross-functional and team leadership skills, with the ability to inspire
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative test methods and appreciation of sensory test methodologies
  • Arabic-speaking to work with across the METR business unit
