Description

Job Summary:

Responsible collecting, cleaning, assembling and sterilizing equipment, supplies and instruments for all units and departments under the direction of the CSSD in Charge. Assures distribution of all sterile supplies to appropriate areas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Washes and decontaminates used instruments and equipment by following prescribed techniques.

• Processes and maintains sterile instruments and surgical sets by adhering to adequacy of sets and correct handling techniques.

• Collects and distributes items to and from the units in a timely manner and correctly documents any shortage problems.

• Reports any problems to the CSSD in Charge.

• Keeps work area and equipment clean.

• Performs other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities as directed by the CSSD In-Charge.

• Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements

• Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities

• Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures

• Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports

• Comply with Waste management procedures and policies

• Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs

• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems

Qualifications

Qualification, Licensure, Education, Experience, Special Skills:

• Approved training as CSSD Aide.
• DoH/DHA License or eligibility
• Two years relevant experience.

Must be fluent in spoken and written English, Arabic speaking desirable but not essential.
