The Credit Risk Senior Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Risk Senior Credit officer on various day to day asks, including helping review of annual reviews, quarterly credit memo, triggers, covenants, financial analysis, ratings and classifications.
• The candidate will further be exposed to portfolio level discussions on monitoring, ratings, hedging actions, monthly monitoring and limit setting at country level.
• Help co-ordinate regulatory matters related to credit risk, and ensure established Process Notes are adhered to.
• Build strong working relations for with Banking RM and associates, Finance, CRMS teams, Operations, Internal Audit, and other Risk stripes.
• Participate in MCA testing, IFRS9 staging and reserve discussions, ICAAP, Internal and Central bank stress testing of portfolio.
• Able to understand Financial analysis of Corporates, Banks. Provide preliminary analysis of simple to complex credits, including calculation of cash flow, debt service coverage, collateral coverage, and guarantor net worth.
• Provide succinct analysis based on customers, peers, the portfolio, and the industry.
• Act in an advisory role for the Credit Officers/Relationship Managers on loan agreement/covenants clarification and monitoring.
• Complete quality assurance reviews to ensure application packages and analysis are thorough and accurate prior to forwarding for underwriting.
• Prepare presentations of regional and country portfolio reviews, co-ordinate for country watchlist and scenario plan reviews with CCOs, CRO and Risk functions.
• Support Regional risk senior credit officer on ad-hoc asks on the ICG portfolio.
• Build a strong understanding of Citi Policies and Procedures and Guidelines for Institutional Clients Business and Risk related policies.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years previous experience in a financial institution with a focus on credit analysis and spreading software.
• The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) accounting, financial regulations, financial products, and credit analysis.

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
