Who we are Xenon is a new Fintech player specializing in Credit-as-a-Service ("CaaS"), targeting partners who serve the SME banking and lending segment within the UAE. We tackle the difficulty most local SMEs face when seeking credit by removing the barriers that traditional lenders have in place. We want to make accessing credit simple, transparent, digital, and friction-free for those who need it most, local SMEs. Xenon is also backed by a newly launched investment fund from the region, ensuring an unfair advantage from day one.
About the role As an early-stage startup, we are looking for a Credit Manager to support the team as the owner of the Credit Risk Framework. You will develop and embed an effective credit risk control framework to identify, mitigate, augment and monitor credit risk across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development and maintenance of asset product credit risk strategies
- To develop the credit function including management of Credit Policy/Collections/Portfolio Management /Underwriting/Analytics & Governance
- To launch new credit products and roll out product road maps
- Make sure strategies adhere to policy and risk appetite requirements in order to help the business in achieving sustainable, controlled, and robust growth
- Develop, maintain and execute credit strategy, undertake performance reviews, and drive continual performance improvement
- Provide expert guidance and insight, undertake analysis and generate reports for governance committees and business forums
- Own and manage the day-to-day credit risk relationships for the first-line SME business functions
- Optimize portfolio performance through analytical diagnostics and deep dive
- A Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent
- Minimum 5-7 years of working experience in a Credit Risk Management role
- It is essential you have knowledge of SAS/SQL and an ability to remain hands-on while growing the capability of the team
- Knowledge of Embedded Finance and SME products
- You must have proven experience in a senior credit risk role for SME lending
- You must have knowledge of credit risk modeling and analytics techniques
- Ideally, you will have a commercial mindset, an understanding of issues involved in running a business, and the key financial drivers
- You need to be a skilled communicator and comfortable working with stakeholders up to Board level
