Job Purpose

The purpose and main objective of the job is to lead and drive robust credit and collection operations to achieve, in a cost-effective manner, timely and 100% collection, with minimum risk on Trade Receivables of the organization. Key activities are customer acquisition documentation & related approvals, Initial credit limit assessment, Monitoring, Dunning process,review and revision of credit limit, liaison with sales and customer to get collection, implement related controls and ensure related compliances. Further job holder will be responsible for Fixed Asset, Payroll related & General Accounting operations as well.

Key Accountabilities

Approve sales orders numerous times every day since 80% of the sales orders have exceeded credit limit or are overdue. Additional approvals are mandatory from the concerned business heads and regional finance controllers, considering the present economic/market condition of Oman. Work closely with the Sales Team & customers including filed visits, especially projects for the overdues and reconciliations of anomalies. Liaison with the collection agency as well as the external law firm for the tracking of the bad debts collection. Control debtors overdues via bi-monthly overdue meetings with the GM/business managers/regional business heads. Weekly Od review with the MPY Global team. Update customer receipts in Navsion and digitally store receipt documents. Send AR-statement of accounts to the sales team for collection of debt on 20th of each month. Handle customer queries relating to overdues, credit notes, receipts etc. Liaison with statutory & Internal auditors for the balance confirmation of selected customer overdues. Cash discount managemrnt, Monthly provision, verificaion of discount, issue of credit note, reversal of excess provision Circulate bad debts provision review file to business managers, unit heads, GM and credit controller and after approval post in Navsion. Reconcile AR-sub ledger upload campaign and ICD price in Navsion system. Adjust sales returns against individual sales. Write off AR bad debts with prior board approval and remove the debt from Navsion. Send dunning / warning letters to default customers Provide adhoc report related to overdues, ageing, discount etc to Finance Manager & General Manager of unit Update Fixed Assets Master after approval for the new assets Run Fixed Assets depreciation on the last day of every month and post to GL. Obtain prior board approval for fixed assets disposal /sale and enter in Navsion. Generate Fixed Assets schedule and other report for Internal & External audit. Ensure salaries of new staff & leavers' salary are considered before posting to salary GL. Tally payroll control sheet with the payroll register every month. Check Social Insurance Employee Contribution and employer contribution and tally before payroll posting Ensure monthly allocation of gratuity for employees before posting to GL. Ensure payroll approvals before salary posting to GL. Calculate leave provision for employees every month and post in Navsion and also reversal of existing ytd leave provision. Verify recurring journals for bonus provision, pre-paid air fare, prepaid medicals, prepaid audit expenses, prepaid rent and prepaid miscellaneous expenses and post in Navsion on a monthly basis. Pass rectification entries for the mismatch connected with business units and cost centers.

Experience and Role Requirements

A bachelor's degree in accounting Professional qualified in Finance will be an advantage. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Navision (ERP), or in similar ERP systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required and to be Highly numerate, Should have English language skills-advance level & Arabic language skills-Initial knowledge.
