. This role requires close coordination with the sales, operations, and project teams to ensure timely collection and healthy cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Management:
Evaluate new credit requests and conduct client credit checks.
Set credit limits based on company policies and risk assessment.
Maintain up-to-date records of customer accounts, aging analysis, and credit limits.
Receivables Monitoring:
Monitor accounts receivable balances across project-based and retail customers.
Ensure timely invoicing and follow-up on outstanding payments.
Handle escalations, disputes, and resolve billing issues in coordination with project or sales teams.
Project Customer Management:
Work closely with project managers and contract teams to track billing milestones, retention, and variation orders.
Align payment terms with project schedules and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Monitor payment certificates, LPOs, and collection timelines from contractors and consultants.
Retail Customer Management:
Oversee day-to-day credit control for retail sales, including cash sales, credit invoices, and returns.
Engage directly with resellers, small contractors, and walk-in clients for payment collections and reconciliations.
Reporting & Analysis:
Generate regular reports on receivables, overdue accounts, and credit exposure.
Provide analysis and forecasts to senior management to support cash flow planning.
Recommend process improvements and assist in defining credit policies.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure credit practices align with company policies and local regulations.
Maintain documentation of credit approvals, contracts, and correspondence with clients.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum
5 years of experience
in credit control, preferably within an
MEP, construction, or trading company
.
Proven experience managing both
project clients
(e.g., contractors, developers) and
retail/individual clients
.
Strong knowledge of billing processes, retention, variations, and credit documentation in MEP projects.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple accounts simultaneously.
