Responsibilities

Mission: Identify credit related risks, perform corporate analysis and write credit applications, focused on the corporate part of SGCIB Dubai portfolio. Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Credit management and monitoring of a portfolio of Middle East corporates being in a position to advise on credit quality and overall exposure
  • Preparation of corporate counterparty credit analysis to include (but not limited to) industry dynamics, business profile, management strategy, financial position and projections, including non-standard situations (weak borrower or security structure, new client, highly structured facility)
  • Proposal of Corporate Counterparty Credit Ratings
  • Participation to "Watchlist" discussions and provision of recommendations in connection with clients within the portfolio
  • Liaison with the Middle East Corporate Coverage teams on the advice and structuring of corporate borrowing facilities
  • Review of credit applications received from overseas branches and subsidiaries seeking approval for exposure to local subsidiaries of clients of the Middle East Corporate Coverage teams
  • Preparation of credit memoranda in connection with breaches/amendment of covenants, general facility amendments and excess requests
  • Liaison with the relevant business line (or Middle East Corporate Coverage team) & Group Legal in connection with the preparation of ISDA and other documentation
  • Administration of the credit process and follow up of conditions of sanction
  • Participation in Client Credit Group administrative tasks
  • Ensuring effective credit analysis to provide early warning signals and allow appropriate credit decisions are taken
  • Focuses on improving asset quality by reducing NPAs of the bank
  • Implementing and managing credit risk policies and procedures which support the branch's strategy
  • Maintaining good working relationships with coverage team, front officers and business lines, and Risk teams

Profile required

Studies & experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/ Business Administration, MBA preferred
  • At least 2 years of banking experience including in credit analytical role Middle East experience will be an added advantage
  • Credit analyst or similar capabilities
Language skills:
  • French - advanced
  • English - advanced
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
  • Ability to articulate clear and concise credit arguments (both written and oral)
  • Maintain a knowledge of corporate and commercial bank products including corporate loans and structured financing
  • Maintain a knowledge of capital market products including derivatives in treasury and commodity products
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivation
