Country Manager

Job Description

Our client is the largest express courier, cargo, and money remittance service company headquartered in the Philippines.

We are looking for an Area\\Country Manager for our client at the Dubai location who will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of branch operations, both remittance and cargo. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, including hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining subordinates; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities:

Management of Operations
  • Supervise and manage the entire operation of respective branch and warehouse.
  • Lead the entire group in their daily routine to promote our products and services.
  • Ensure that Associates are effectively doing their Daily Routine and ensure productive calls/selling are made everyday
  • Recommend solutions to problems encountered or observed
  • Recommend improvements or modifications to products and services
  • Develop implementation procedures to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule the teams activities so that resources are used effectively and targets are met
  • Regularly monitor accomplishments of the teams.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop staff so that activities are completed accurately and on time
  • Must be aware of all the factors affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of the frontlines and ensure immediate resolution of concerns
  • Complete reports as needed by Management
  • Functions involve sales, finance, customer service, HR/people management required to manage efficient business operations and supervise performance of Associates
Business Development
  • Initiate/assist with updating of sales and marketing products and proposals
  • Close monitoring by observing and reporting competitor activity
  • Attend/participate in sales calls with individuals/organizations to strengthen existence in the area
  • Actively promote Company products and services to individuals & Filipino communities
  • Participate in customer, or potential customer, demonstrations and promotional seminars
Finance
  • Ensures accuracy of all recordings and reports submitted
  • Regularly monitors all expenses of the Teams
  • Manages and analyzes sections budget request to identify areas in which reductions can be made
Human Resources
  • Manages the overall daily operation of the assigned areas including hiring, discipline, and scheduling of employees to ensure cost effective and quality operations
  • Train and build capabilities of the Customer Associates and entire team to achieve the desired and expected results.
  • Communicates clearly and directly with subordinates concerning performance expectations, productivity and accountability
Productivity
  • Meet performance goals and achieve sales targets aligned to strategies of Management
  • Aligns the team towards the strategies formulated
  • Ensures SOPs and Company Policies are being followed
Management Support
  • Ensure attendance in trainings and strategic plans relevant to Operations and conducted by the Management LOGISTICS
  • Ensures premises are within standards and well maintained
  • Monitors all lease contracts and re-negotiates any extension
  • Registration requirements, permits and licenses
  • Properly monitor and maintain inventories at adequate levels and the physical condition of all the company\'s assets.
  • Ensures monitoring, requests and maintenance of equipment\'s critical to the day to day operations
  • Ensures proper monitoring of vehicles, requests and their cleanliness, serviceability, and proper use thereof.
Sales and Marketing
  • Promote and sell company products and services
  • Participate in promotional activities for the customers
  • Build good relationships with the trade and operate efficiently and economically.
  • Develop sales and replenishment planning, as well as strategic coverage planning and improved customer service, and implement them effectively and efficiently.
  • Local Area Marketing: establish market awareness within their areas and handle local events and other related marketing activities as directed by management
  • Agent Network and Trade Marketing Development develop agent network and establish good relations with various types of agents to further improve market reach in the area handled.
Others:
  • Keeps abreast and informed with the developments in the field of courier and remittance sales and operation work and advises executives and managers of latest developments and trends in the profession.
  • Monitors personnel activities through effective performance evaluation, enforcement of discipline and personnel counseling.
  • Ensures effective implementation of the Quality System.
  • May be assigned to perform tasks/duties/other works from time to time to provide the relevant and necessary orientation or information is given.
Requirements:
  • preferably a graduate or a post-graduate of the ff Universities: , University of the Philippines (UP), Ateneo De Manila University;, De La Salle University (DLSU), University of Santo Tomas (UST)
  • Must have Retail Operations Experience preferably with convenience store management or management of a fast consumer product;
  • Must have at least five years experience as a General Manager, Area Manager, or Country Manager.
  • Must have five years and above experience in Financial Management Management of profit and loss, balance sheet, etc;
  • A strong logistics background in supply chain, warehousing, and courier management.
