The Costuming Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the costuming area of the Entertainment department while providing guidance to the technical and operational costuming team. This position works with the Farah Experiences team as an active participant in achieving artistic goals, ensuring consistent quality, sharing knowledge with the team, supporting production and execution of events and shows from a costuming standpoint while maintaining a positive attitude in the workplace, guaranteeing high standards in the delivery of all offerings and preserving production and execution values across the properties. Your job scope includes;
Overseeing costume operations for shows, character experiences and all other entertainment related offerings, including corporate functions and seasonal events
Ensures costuming systems and procedures in place are followed supporting the entertainment overall operations
Works with other departments within the business to execute synergies and efficiencies in the costuming section of the department when requested
Maintains an updated inventory of costumes and costume related equipment and advises and consults with Senior Costuming Manager on needs for replacements and repairs in a timely manner
Monitors the execution of internal costume procedures and operations to ensure alignment with IP guidelines
Works with technical team on repairs, including hair/wig care, theatrical makeup and prosthetics
Oversees storage, organization and maintenance of appropriate inventory levels of all costume pieces
Ensures costuming equipment, including washers, dryers, steamers, dry room, and sewing machines are in working order
Oversees laundry systems to ensure all shows\xc3\xa2\xe2\x82\xac\xe2\x84\xa2 costumes are clean and ready for operations, including doing laundry as needed
Executes costume fixes as needed ensuring the daily operations run smoothly
Prepares and distributes schedules for the wardrobe team ensuring sufficient coverage to operate the shows
Accounts for unforeseeable and urgent repairs while consulting with the Senior Costuming Manager
Maintains communication with costume vendors as requested
Ensures appropriate levels of consumable supplies such as detergents, fabric, dye, thread and related notions
Tracks targets, objectives and KPIs and provides coaching and evaluations as per company policies
Leads the costuming team by providing mentorship and feedback to both operational and technical colleagues
Assists the department with planning and execution of events and other entertainment offerings as needed
Works across Farah properties supporting the costuming function as reasonably requested
Provides management coverage at entertainment shows and venues when needed
Acts as Senior Costuming Manager on duty when requested
Performs other duties as requested by senior management
To be considered for this role, you need to have Essential
Higher secondary or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years in costuming in theme parks and/or in the entertainment industry and large scale productions including events
Leadership skills
Costume production and operations management
Knowledge of hair/wig care, theatrical makeup and prosthetics
Communication skills including proficiency in English
Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to operate industrial/home sewing machines and sergers
Desirable
Bachelor\xc3\xa2\xe2\x82\xac\xe2\x84\xa2s degree in theatre arts with emphasis on costuming
5 years of experience in the entertainment industry and theme park; 1 year of experience leading a team in a theme park environment
