Job Description

Job Summary:
The Costing Clerk is responsible for assisting in the analysis, tracking, and reporting of production costs, inventory valuation, and financial data to support accurate cost accounting. They ensure that costs are recorded correctly, assist in budgeting, and help maintain cost efficiency within the organization.
Key Responsibilities: * Cost Tracking & Analysis:

• Record and monitor production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead.
• Assist in calculating product costs and variances.
• Analyze cost trends and report discrepancies.
• Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and valuations.
• Assist in conducting physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
• Update standard costs and assist in inventory cost adjustments.
• Data Entry & Reporting:

• Enter cost-related data into accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
• Prepare cost reports, summaries, and financial statements.
• Assist in month-end closing processes related to costing.
• Budgeting & Forecasting Support:

• Help compile cost data for budgeting and forecasting.
• Compare actual costs against budgeted costs and investigate variances.
• Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Maintain organized records of invoices, purchase orders, and cost reports.
• Collaboration:

• Work closely with procurement, production, and finance teams to verify cost accuracy.
• Assist auditors with cost-related inquiries when necessary.
