Position Overview
This Cost Estimator position supports ADNOC Group by providing full-spectrum cost management across capital projects, engineering programs, modifications, and maintenance works. The role delivers cost estimating, cost forecasting, life-cycle costing, and economic evaluations that enable accurate budgeting, investment decisions, and commercially sound project execution within the Oil and Energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in consultancy estimating services for operating divisions
  • Evaluate contract variations and support techno-commercial appraisals
  • Contribute to feasibility studies, life-cycle cost assessments, and project cost risk analyses
  • Maintain and update cost data systems for engineering activities and materials
  • Forecast costs and prepare project cost outlooks across multiple classes and project types
  • Provide cost forecasting to technical and operating divisions across capital and maintenance projects
  • Produce detailed cost-engineering studies and risk analyses for project stages
  • Prepare cost estimates for capital development and major maintenance schemes with appropriate estimate classes and accuracy
  • Develop cost estimates from historical data or first-principles based on resources, materials, man-hours, and equipment needs
  • Review and consolidate consultants' cost estimates with indirect owner costs to form complete project budgets
  • Determine construction methods, logistics, and activity-duration cost estimates
  • Produce alternative cost scenarios and recommend economically optimized options
  • Develop detailed cost estimates used as benchmarks for tender appraisals
  • Conduct site visits to understand construction methods, manpower requirements, and execution timelines
  • Provide cost breakdowns and cost data for budget preparation, cost management, and business planning
  • Participate in feasibility studies, risk assessments, and optimization initiatives
  • Evaluate project bids and provide cost advisory support during bid analysis
  • Support negotiation strategies and review contract variation orders during project execution
  • Perform advanced cost risk analyses using appropriate software tools
  • Review execution plans, procurement and contracting strategies, and construction methods to allocate accurate budget breakdowns across direct cost components
Ideal Profile
  • Engineering degree with cost control experience, or accounting/finance degree, or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Strong understanding of project cost estimating, engineering economics, and cost control processes
  • Knowledge of construction methods, contracting strategies, and market pricing trends
  • Ability to analyze project execution plans and develop precise budget allocations
  • Proficient in cost risk analysis and cost estimation software tools
