Cost Controller / Cost Engineer (project Cost)

Job Description

  • Ensure a financially controlled environment governing all drilling and E&P related activities/costs. The Cost Engineer will support the E&P Manager in the preparation and tracking of periodic internal Budgets, partner budgets and the analysis /performance of budget activities.
  • Track actual costs and reconcile with AFE\xe2\x80\x99s and budgets related to all E&P activities including drilling and facilities, special projects. Daily drilling cost tracking. Create and maintain a detailed cost tracking model to monitor commitments to AFEs, and commitments to actuals. Responsible to provide month end deliverables (accruals, variance analysis and budget reforecasts) on a project-by-project basis.
  • Advise company in regards to optimizing the Finance Module in MAXIMO. In case company decides to change the ERP System, take a key role in the transition and implementation
  • Accountable for preparation of AFE\xe2\x80\x99s as required, within agreed budgets (budgets preparation too). Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure accurate AFE\xe2\x80\x99s for each project.
  • Conduct activities according to the guidelines within the Joint Operating Agreements regarding the AFE process. Develop a set of finance tools to ensure transparency to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all cost information is properly communicated and records are maintained within the company which may be audited from time to time by stakeholders. Ensure E&P department is prepared properly for any upcoming internal & external audits.
  • Liaise with contractors as required to ensure accurate and updated invoices.
  • Provide financial indicators inherent in any reports produced, and for addressing progress against key performance indicators. Support all staff providing data to ensure that all daily/weekly/monthly cost tracking reports are accurate.
  • Liaise with finance department to ensure the accounts properly reflect the status of costs incurred, through the accurate and timely booking of accruals. Perform the monthly variance analysis at each monthly closure. Close out the Final Cost analysis for each project.
  • Provide forecast financial data to support the budget reforecast for all E&P activities. Support the various Managers in preparation of the Annual Budget, and any mid year updates. Assist in preparing presentations for senior management as required.
  • Support various managers in preparing the work program and budget for concession areas with partners. Track spending against partner budgets and prepare relevant communication for stakeholders.
  • Responsible for training and development of young cost engineers
Requirements:
  • Education \xe2\x80\x93 Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Finance \xe2\x80\x93 knowledge and experience of Budget, AFE and other finance processes found within E&P industry
  • Drilling \xe2\x80\x93 experience of the various components and services which are typically utilized during the drilling and workover operations. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge and experience of Drilling cost engineering.
  • Development / Projects \xe2\x80\x93 good understanding of the various processes and services, which are typically required in order to execute a field development (e.g. conceptual design, FEED, EPC Contractor)
